I apoligize. I did not mean to post realtiively the same comment twice, I just thought of a better way to word what I was trying to say the second time.
yes, I know, 28-1 would be the sheriff. And I am not disagreeing with you on why the bear was not tranq'd. You are right about him not hurting anybody or any animal. My point about the vet was simply that it was a hassel for no good reason at all. The bear was being a bear. The bear was fine, Bockenstedt's dog chased after it and the bear didn't even turn around and do a thing to the dog.
i'm from edgewood. and the people here are not scared. And they didn't tranq him becasue they had no way to transport him. and it takes a long time becuase you would have to find a vet to tranq, and there would be no way of knowing the right dose therefor resulting in a very ticked off bear. There is always more to a story, just think more before you say things.
