I'd comment but I'm still vomiting from yet another shameless link spam plug of Amazon - small business' worst enemy (even worse than Obama).

Longmont Times-Call : Longmont moms share tips for saving during the holidays - Longmont Times-Call

My advice to shoppers is to avoid Amazon like the plague. They're trying to kill off all small business and literally take over all of retail shopping with a total monopoly. Continue to support them and you'll be paying whatever they demand as there will be no competition.

I'm really mad at the people who told us the earth was growing warmer. They lied, as as the temperatures hit record lows each year, I become angrier and angrier with the liars who got my hopes up about global warming.

Longmont Times-Call : Johnnie St. Vrain: Wheelchair users should behave like pedestrians on streets - Longmont Times-Call

I think it's long past time we as a society rid ourselves of antiquated laws that allot bicyclists the same right to travel on the roadway as is allotted to a motorist. A cyclist was killed in my hometown yesterday, and the fact is far too many of them ride on dangerous roads just because they enjoy the power trip of forcing a line of 150 cars to drive at 1/4 the speed limit. I have no problem yielding to a wheelchair.

LoupDargent.info : Wars Leave Lasting Wounds for All Americans [Infographic]

Ironically, if there was any need for additional proof above and beyond what we experienced first-hand with the whole Syria issue, that need is long gone. Interestingly enough, I could've sworn I had commented on this very same post some time ago. Weird... No idea if I did or if I'm imagining things or going crazy. I guess we'll check back every six weeks or so to see if I'm going crazy or if they're disappearing. I only care because I Facebooked, Tweeted, +1'd and Pinned this post already, which is how I found my way back to it again. My recent post EGAN Medical Equipment to Offer Discount Coupons to Facebook Fans

http://chasecomputerservices.com/ : Web Development Services of Chase Computer Services

Thank you for the detailed answer. I was merely joking. Sorry for not clarifying that. Back in the days when I was learning web design and figuring out that "web developer" was not a term which would ever be used to describe my line of work, I played around with it and found it far too complicated for my feeble mind to handle. I've no doubt in your ability to master it and even serve it up in a dashboard or control panel that someone like me could understand.

http://chasecomputerservices.com/ : Website of Hunting Closet

I personally spoke with the owner of the Hunting Closet regarding a premium domain name I own related to the products they sell, and which I thought might make for a nice addition to their site network (or to be the first additional site within said network). Anyway, they owner told me personally that the site is keeping him extremely busy. I've been scouting out Chase Computer Services for about a week now as my company is seeking a partner to help us develop a few domains on platforms besides those with which we are already working. It's one thing to build a site for a client. Its another matter altogether to build a site for a client which actually sells and helps said client move product. My communications with Chase Computer Services consist of a handful of emails exchanged between parties and a few questions and answers which took place here on the site. From what the man who owns the Hunting Closet said (in so many words), these guys (Chase) are the real deal. If the price is right, they'll be on the short-list of prospective partners for our upcoming development projects.

http://chasecomputerservices.com/ : Umbraco Development / Consulting

Thank you for the reply. I actually may be in the market for a site or two on a non-Linux server. I can't build them, hence why I'm asking you questions. Would you be willing to email me a brief synopsis in layman's terms describing the reasoning behind dot-Net being your preferred platform of development? I don't know anything about the CMS or development platform in general. Our CEO has a handful of sites - all powered by software either he or I can install with a couple of clicks using GoDotYourself-dot-com, a domain registrar, hosting and software company similiar to GoDaddy in terms of product offerings and functionality. Main differnce is GoDotYourself is a better registrar to use for investing and long-term development as the prices are far more stable on a year-to-year basis. What are the capabilities OF dot-Net above and beyond what a minimally-to-moderately savvy publisher can figure out how to do with Wordpress, although not necessarily BuddyPress or Wordpress MU, which neither he nor I have yet to figure out? What would it run me to commission a couple of relatively simple, singularly-targeted niche sites and one with some sort of content-creation features such as directory software --- I'm looking for something for HealthCareLouisiana-dot-com which would enable me to create a reference list of all hospitals, physicians, clinics, home health companies, hospice firms, nursing agencies, medical staffing firms, medical equipment & supply firms, supplement shops, surgical centers and any other medical or healthcare-related businesses and industry professionals. They would be categoriezed according to genre, specialty, geography (Parish, City/Town + genre/specialty). The entire site would be specific to the healthcare/medical industry. Can you do this with dot-Net, and if so, what'll it cost me? Many thanks. Pleas email reply to ceo(@)eganmedical-dot-com

Catarina's World : Will we all be business owners in the future?

Thanks for the advice. I used to have the toolbar installed, but have been so overwhelmed of late that I haven't had time to worry about it so long as there were orders to fill. In fairness, the site URL I entered into the field was for one of our blogs and not our main commercial site. Many bloggers and webmasters prefer that readers who comment not attempt to link to e-commerce sites given the proclivity of doing to so attract spammers who don't read the posts before commenting, much less care about whether or not their comment offers anything of value to other readers. I do not know if you would fall within this category of blogger, but I've made it a habit of only linking to blogs which have interesting content and aren't commercial in nature per se when commenting on the blogs I frequent for entertainment or advice. I'm not sure where our main site would rank in Alexa, but I do know it would be far better than any of the various blogs we maintain to promote the main site, including our Tumblr blog. She will most certainly be working on generating more site traffic, as we've found "social signals" to play an increasingly significant role in bolstering our site's position in organic search. Anyway, I've long found your blog to be among the more interesting business blogs I frequent. I find it uncanny how much I'm able to relate to the things you write about despite our residing on different continents. Keep up the great work and thanks again for the suggestions!

Catarina's World : Do you ask yourself what, who, why, how and when?

Having majored in journalism in college, I'm hardwired to ask the aforementioned questions in virtually all of life's various scenarios - both with regard to business and private life. It's among the best habits I've ever developed, as the natural result is to think critically about virtually everything. I highly recommend everyone learn to ask themselves these five (or sometimes six) simple questions by default, both within the context provided within the post as well as in a more general sense. My recent post Treatments for Vulvar Varicosities
