DoD Buzz : Carter Blasts Spending Cuts in His First Budget Pitch to Congress

Stop deflecting like a liberal. Show me proof that Carter is a Lockheed mouthpiece. Stuff like that deflects from our common desire to see a strong defense.<br />

Hey, take it easy on the facts, you will scare the liberals and Obama sycophants. And, thanks for looking out for us grunts in your comment. We seem to be the only ones that care about us non-glamor boys.

DoD Buzz : Army Not Interested in Taking A-10 Warthogs from Air Force

McHugh is a civilian appointed by the white house, right? That appears to be synonymous with screw the armed forces on the ground. The abominations on the white house staff didn&#039;t leave enough in the Army or AF budget to fund the best ground support weapon in the AF arsenal. So what if the high flier, super expensive aircraft, hotshot pilots kill us groundpounders with &quot;friendly fire&quot; because the high-flier weapons systems are just plain incapable of providing as effective ground support as an A-10, it&#039;s no skin off the flyboys&#039; noses.

Defense Tech : General: ‘We Don’t Have a Replacement’ for A-10, U-2

Nothing that the crap-for-brains the top politicians, both in and out, of the military will change the fact that NOTHING performs the ground support mission like an A-10. The Air force is condemning groundpounders to unnecessary deaths pretending any other aircraft can do the job any where near as well. Never the less, AF brass will renege on their commitment to provide air ground support to the Army. Facts are facts and politics will not change them.

DoD Buzz : Welsh on Aging Fleets: 'Airplanes Are Falling Apart'

There will never be enough money to do everything needed unless the US goes into full mobilization, then there will not be enough time. One reason is the atrociously inefficient DOD purchasing system. As a retired military officer and as a vendor to the USAF I have seen it from both sides. Now add the political nincompoops in this administration and it becomes desperate. We can only hope and pray for a turnaround soon. We may get one politically but I fear nothing will change in the bureaucracy that breeds inefficiency by its very nature of no personal responsibility for anything other than personal gratification.

DoD Buzz : DOD's Guns Versus Butter Debate

Before you youngsters get all gung ho on cutting TRICARE benifits you should know that many of it&#039;s recipients are paid retirement based on a pay table from many years ago that is a LOT LOWER than the current one. Instead of an E-1 recruit starting at over a thousand a month, some of us started at $78 a month. Even allowing for inflation, that&#039;s a lot lower scale than today. The fat cats in congress force systems and expenses on the military that are neither needed or wanted but represent business and jobs for organizations in the conress&#039; districts. Look to those billions for funding.
