This sounds quite familiar. When my son, who is now grown with a son of his own, was about 7, he stuck a toy truck tire up his nose. We had to go to the ER to have it removed.

In my year and a half of blogging, I've never received a hateful comment or email. Sure, I've had some where they disagreed with something I said, but they were always done respectfully and in a straightforward manner.

As for your "friend", some people are just so full of hate and intolerance, and the only way they know to deal with it is to lash out at people. I can't tell you how many posts I've read that had me falling out of my chair in utter disbelief.

As for blogs, they are like a TV or radio. There is no need for me to throw my shoe at the TV screen. I have the option of changing the station or turning it off.

I'm an avid bowler Dan, and I have a quirk too that I've had all my life. There is no explanation, rhyme or reason to it. I just do it. Just before starting my approach, I kick my right leg up in the air....backwards! The only think I can equate it to is a subconscious timing control, much like you see with a professional baseball player who jerks or tweeks a body part just before starting his swing.

So what. It's just one more thing that makes you unique. And of course, gives you one more thing to blog about.

Obviously, a police officer or any first responder in real life would not wait around looking for opinions. They would simply take the necessary and appropriate actions.

But the point of the story is that like the officer, sometimes we hesitate or even fail to do what we know is right, because we're too concerned with what others will think and how we will be perceived by those who don't agree with us. It's tough being the black sheep of the family, so-to-speak. As with peer pressure, we want to fit in, and be part of the crowd.

It takes courage and conviction to stand up and do the right thing. Even when it's not the popular thing.

My wife has a sensitive side, her feelings are easily hurt
I tell her she's oh so pretty, and she calls me a silly flirt

talking dirty does not turn her on, and neither does being lewd
so I butter her up with a compliment, and admire her pulchritude

her ire gets up with that word, not knowing what it means
she replies that I'm wasting my time, and won't be getting into her jeans

as I try my best to explain, and get myself out of this mess
I look her deep in the eyes, and admire her pulchritudinous

as her face turns angrily red, I open the dictionary
and there in Webster's own words, her beauty is plain to see

she smiles and kisses my cheek, and gently takes my hand
and leads me up the stairs, and to the promised land

The baby is in a car seat facing the right way. But I suppose the air temperature could be an issue, or things getting in his/her eyes or face. The whooshing air could bother the baby. At any rate, it just looks wrong even if it isn't.

Yeah for the miners. I too didn't even know about them until recently.

I don't know if she gives driving a bad name, but she sure doesn't do parking any justice.

Our cats will wake you up around 5-5:30 for breakfast. It's very annoying. As in VERY.

Happy Birthday to your seniorita sister.
