The trick is to understand how much easier it makes most things, but not beat yourself up when you don't do the right thing right away.

One thing I've learned is the importance of doing things wrong now and then. I'll get stuck trying to find the perfect way to do something and just go, ``Damnit, I'm going to do this the worst possible way.'' Most of the time when I do that, I don't actually achieve the ``worst possible way,'' but at least I get something out of the way.
