GrassrootsPA : Activists call for relief from soaring electric bills...

The solution to energy rate hikes is a politician reduction bill. Lets have a 10% reduction in lawmakers wages and benifits for every 1% raise in energy costs. The most recent law mandated reduction in power usage in PA and gave utilities a 2% increase in rates to tell us to use less energy. It also mandated installation of smart meters for every customer which the installation and the meter's cost will be charged to the customer.

GrassrootsPA : Christie meets with Rendell on economic development...

Remember when Pennsylavania emergency management did not know that the interstate was impassable and motorists were stranded for many hours because they decided to move headquarters in the winter so there was a 12 hour debacle that was state run. No wonder the Gov wants to be notified about false alarms. Here is a real alarm -- the revenue is not what the Governor projected and once again we will be billions in the red illegally! Wake up Ed!

This is where the payoffs are. Change orders and additions at end of contract. Pay for a plan and when it is approved say the planners didn't anticipate x, y , & z. (thats why they are paid to plan) but note how many say they were unavoidable. The additions are t & m and can be sustatntial and hard to substantiate.

GrassrootsPA : Santarsiero bill: mandate power producers like PECO Energy to produce 15% renewable energy, such as

The Spanish government mandated that all renewable energy had to be purchased no mater what the cost- Unemployment now over 20% and government debt has to be reduced to remain in the EU. Our state already mandated smart meters which haven't been built or tested which will need a 600 million government grant and then each ratepayer will be stuck with a $1000.00 installation charge. Of course if the sunspot activity ever kicks back up again it could knock out all these wireless apps and of course if the government programers get pissed they can remotely shut off lots of neat things like transportation or hospitals or traffic lights.

Doesn't the Third District Court sponsor a halfway house for criminals who have prominent people write letters telling the court how important they are? Or is that the vacation home on Murtha's vineyard? How about a high speed rail line from Harrisburg with a stop at the Governor's Mansion to the Federal Prison in Kentucky? Corzine, the billionaire wall street banker, may have taken New Jersey to new heights of deficits but our multi millionaire gorvernor is trying harder. What they have in the quality of corruption we make up in quantity.

GrassrootsPA : Judge: Fumo sentencing range could be 11-14 years...

Just remember that the judge who halved the potential sentence to be considered before taking into account al the good deeds and medical problems Fumo has, answers to the wife of the biggest Fumo supporter in the State. The guy who arranged for the drpa piggybank for payoffs. Why should a judge listen to prosecutors recommendations? Recall the list of famous prosecutors who have benefited from the taxpayers largesse: Richard Sprague, Ron Castile, Ed Rendel, Arlen Spector. There is ample precedent to belittle the recomendations of prosecutors operating within the Third District depending on the incentives. Obviously I was refering to the quality of mercy as the prime incentive.

GrassrootsPA : Domestic partner health Insurance extension won't fry budget, board says...

How about if the board members are made personally responsible for any increase and then see if they want to expand the benefits. If a board votes to expand benefits in what language does expand not mean increase? Or was the operative word significant and as long as we the taxpayer foot the bill no expansion can ever be significant by definition!

Wow $400 million for mass transit from turnpike tolls, The South Koreans working on the new rail cars SEPTA ordered that are going to be 9 months late if SEPTA can decide on the design will be employed a lot longer than they thought. The delays won't be as bad as the previous order from the Canadian Company. Thank goodness the politicians that run SEPTA refuse to order anything from American Manufacturers. Its their way of reducing greenhouse gases by elimanating jobs here. No factories emiting gases , no cars emitting gases when people would have been driving to work, no tolls for the Turnpike to repay the bonds that gave the money to South Korean workers to build our rail cars. Guess we will just have to raise income taxes - Hey how about a new high speed rail line from the Treasury to the Turnpike commision as a stimulus package? The traffic on the old one has increased exponentially.

GrassrootsPA : Bill: limit electric utility rate hikes to a maximum 20% a year...

With the Cap and Trade program in place the 20% to 40% increase in electric bills now being discussed will seem like a bargain. The cap and trade effort to tax greenhouse gas emmisions about to become law federally will increase electric bills by 100% or more. Of course if the environmental billionaires who blocked nuclear power at every level had not been successful, coal plants would not have been built and nuclear would have emitted no green house gases. I quess its not the gases but the profits fom the carbon credit market that is the driving force in government today. The State should spend its time finding out how to pay off all the debt currently on the books with no means of repayment instead of engaging in more smoke and mirror legislation.

I am sure that Our Governor will use all his persuasion so the legislature will pass new laws to speed our competition with New Jersey to be # 50. We beat out Louisianna for coruption and all the rest of the country for teachers strikes. Pa. has the most expensive legislature per capita in the United States. We are now borrowing more money to balance the budget than the donations required for a casino license and the only open records and the criminal records of our leaders past present and future.

GrassrootsPA : With traffic dwindling, PA Turnpike toll revenue down...

Since the bonds floated last year (with the proceeds given to PENNDOT after fees to banking buddies) were dependent on tolling I-80 and toll increases every year for repayment of interest, How are these bonds going to be paid off? Hint -- Raise Taxes! How are the Pension funds going to be made whole? Hint Raise Taxes! How many museums that we can't maintain or stadiums for billionaires will be built with future tax money or toll money or slot money? The Madoff Ponzi scheme was nothing compared to the Pennsylvania let's float another bond scheme. Just watch the news and see the trickle down theory- The State floats bonds it can't repay so they don't have money to fix roads so then the county floats bonds to build roads they don't need but their buddies get all the fees then every one refinances every year telling the public all the interest they save so 15 year bonds become 80 year bonds etc. etc. Well back to my fellow ostriches - have some more sand to monitor
