KOMO - Seattle, WA : Thunderstorms light up the skies over Puget Sound | Local & Regional | Seattle News, Weather, Sports

Unfortunately, I live in a one level house surrounded by multi-level houses on all sides, so I didn't get to see quite the light show that some other people did, but the potential for these storms is another reason to love summer in the PNW. I know that people who have lived elsewhere thought that it was pretty tame compared to what they've experienced in other places, but I would ask you to keep in mind that some of us have only ever lived here and experienced the weather here. Obviously even our most intense weather doesn't get as intense as it does in other parts of the country/world, but for what we normally experience, last night was both rare and exciting.

KOMO - Seattle, WA : Are cool, showery springs set to become the Seattle norm? | Weather Blog | Seattle News, Weather, Sp

You just have to keep in mind that your experiences don't necessarily apply to other people. You might not make time for enjoying the sunny weather, but other people do and it's not because they don't have responsibilities.

Whether this was a "real world issue" or not really depends on your perspective. It may not have been a "real world issue" on the scale of the issues you mentioned, but that doesn't mean it wasn't a "real world issue". Yes, the media hype surrounding this case greatly sensationalized it, but try telling anyone involved in it or anyone whose lives were affected by it that it wasn't a "real world issue".

That weather wasn't our normal weather, no matter how much you say it was. Again, it's great if you enjoyed it, but a lot of people didn't. Doesn't mean we all want Texas weather. Just means we want our normal, which we didn't get. No need to take yourself so seriously.

I've lived here my whole life, but that doesn't mean that I liked what we got for the first half of summer this year. It also doesn't mean that I'm itching to move to a place where it's 100 degrees everyday for three straight months and frankly I'm tired of people telling me and others like me that if we like hotter weather so much, we should just move. Most of us weren't calling for Texas-type heat and humidity. All we wanted was normal weather for Seattle and anybody that has kept track of the weather this year could tell ya that we weren't getting that for more than half of the year. If I remember correctly, I think we had lower than normal temperatures in every month from January to July this year. Again, I'm happy for you that you were comfortable with it, but some of us weren't. We wanted what we're used to and didn't really start to get until August.

KOMO - Seattle, WA : Notes and scribbles from this past week\'s sorta-heat wave | Seattle News, Weather, Sports, Breaking

While I'm disappointed that we didn't hit 90, I'll still take the heatwave that we did get considering how long it took us to get one. I know that a lot of people who comment on this site about the weather would prefer it if it never got warmer than 75, but for hot weather fans, the last two years have been fairly depressing. I was still seeing my breath and wearing a heavy coat or a thick sweatshirt in the middle of the afternoon in July because it was barely reaching the 50's. I'm not saying that it needed to be 90 degrees everyday for three solid months, but enough was enough with the cool stuff.

KOMO - Seattle, WA : Commission recommends regulating Kitsap \'sexpresso\' stands | Local & Regional | Seattle News, Weat

Has nothing to do with lack of modesty. A lot of men simply aren't taught to treat others, particularly women, with respect anymore. Maybe some parents should spend more time teaching their kids about respecting others and the choices they make than trying to shield them from every little thing they don't want them seeing. It would be a lot more productive to society and wouldn't cost a dime of taxpayer money.

I don't think she looks anorexic. I've seen much skinnier women than her. I'm with you on the tattoos though. Never been a big fan of those and don't find them, especially the larger ones, attractive on an otherwise attractive woman, but that's just my preference. I know there are people out there that find tattooed women very attractive and that's cool.

People that want to rape, kill or beat women don't need an invitation to do so. If they see someone they think they can do it to, it wouldn't matter if the woman was wearing a bikini or an ankle length, long sleeve dress, they're going to try it. I'm getting kind of tired of the "Well if she's gonna dress like a slut, she's gonna get treated like one" sort of excuse-making for people who commit crimes like that. Nobody deserves to get attacked regardless of what they're wearing and nobody should have to change what they're wearing just because other people can't control themselves.

Doubt you'd find a pubic hair from one of the women in these stands in your coffee. With some of the outfits some of these women supposedly wear, it would be painfully obvious if she had pubes. Besides, unless she's blending your latte with her crotch, I doubt that the cup gets anywhere near that region.

As someone else said, better late than never. I was beginning to think we'd go an entire summer without even a chance of seeing 90 degrees. I know cool weather fans aren't happy, but honestly... you've gotten your wish for most of the last two years and this year in particular. Let us hot weather folks have this one. We've had, what, 7 straight months of below normal temps this year already? I don't think it's too much to ask that we be allowed to enjoy a good two week stretch of hotter than normal temps.

I don't know about you, but I'd much rather be over-prepared for an event that never happens than be under-prepared for an event that does happen. The same people that whine and complain about every story like this getting so much attention would also complain if the news and government "failed to warn and protect" them because they (news/government) under-reported or under-emphasized the magnitude and probability of an event such as a large earthquake or a big snowstorm. Some people are just never satisfied.
