While there are some on the left who are pro-2A, they are generally more of the libertarian bend. The overall base of the dems and most certainly centered with the progressive elements historically are not friendly to indiviaul rights. The focus on the collective overrides the individual (right & responsibility).

Embrace the ENTIRE BOR and lets debate how to work within that framework.

everyone in the system should be accountable. The only way to get systematic accountability is to tie performance to pay and to continued employment based on quantifiable standards.

In the world of business this is the standard, why should we allow our children to be taught by those who do not have an appreciation for the 'real world', the one that is waiting on graduation day.

Exactly, correlation is not causation.

I would add that people who value education will tend to gravitate towards those places that have like minded priorities. I am working on moving out of the Seattle school district to the Eastside or MI before my kid hits school age.

Seattle's priorities are keeping the union happy and apologizing for poor performance.

Lets zero base the budget to 2005 levels. Just roll-back the spending on the same basis that it was increased.

Yeah I got the 'making work cost' version of things. It is actually to the point that I have little incentive to do any more work. I have several things I would like to do that would certainly put more back into the economy, but after taxes, crap laws and general risk right now, I think I'll throttle back my earnings and just pay off debt.

Yes, it appears that by raising the sales tax and other crap fees, they can get the population to vote the income tax onto the 'rich people' in Nov.

Either way they can kiss my @$$. I told my wife about this and she asked when we'll be moving.
