Tech Spikes : How To Run Android on your Netbook or PC

True, but Android was designed such that it could be run all all devices, with any kind of input, not only touchscreen. Of course, having a touchscreen will make it so much better! Thanks for reading!

To run it on VMWare, all you'd need to do is grab the ISO (see the link in the post) and make VMWare boot off it. We've not tried it, but by all rights, it should work!

Not really. Even though it was designed with touch screen phones in mind, Android can be surprisingly useful (and ridiculously fast) on normal computers and netbooks. Also, since it was designed for really small screens, the UI will leave you with much more screen area to do your work on a netbook, when compared to using an operating system designed for bigger screens (like Windows). Of course, you can't run large applications on it, but for light surfing and media playback, it's rather good.

Tech Spikes : Chrome OS source code released

Google has only released the source code as of now, but they do plan to tie it up with particular netbooks. Of course, since it's open source, people can build it themselves. So you can try out gdgt's Vmware image and run it in a virtual machine. But if you want to run it on your netbook, you're going to have to compile and build the code yourself (as of now)!

Tech Spikes : Access blocked websites in your office or school through a free online proxy

Yes, that is a better option than those listed above, but college students who want to bypass their proxy generally would not want to buy professional software to do the job! Anyway, thank you for your comment!

Bad luck! You might want to try Tor (http://www.torproject.org)

Tech Spikes : Firefox 3.6 Beta 1 brings enhancements for Windows 7

Actually, the Beta is just out. So while the release notes are for the Alpha release (which carries the features I'm talking about), the download link is to the Beta only.
