Absolutely. No wonder this country is in the fix it's in. With such a negative attitude, we may as well just cash it in. I imagine all the negative comments are coming from financial geniuses who have the answer to all our ills.

What other rights does Gingrich wish to put up for a vote? How about minorities and voting? Women voting? Should we also vote on who can get an education and who can't? Why not just put up each amendment to the Constitution for a vote?

For such an intellectual, Mr. Gingrich forgets the equal protection rule.

If she was 16 when it all happened, I'd understand your point. However, the article said it all started when she was 14. If that's the case, I think that, as the "adult" in the relationship, he had the duty to not participate. At 16, he also does have the same responsibility. At 14, kids look up to teachers, coaches, etc. and see them as greater people than they are, which is normal. At 14, what I'm trying to say, she didn't really have an informed consent.

I understand what you're saying, but to act on their legal status would guarantee that police wouldn't receive any cooperation in the future. Then, the next molester would simply target illegal aliens, knowing that they'll never report this type of abuse to the police. Probably is already happening.

In some countries (England, I believe) the accused aren't named until they are convicted. Just an accusation that is false can devastate a career or life. Seems fair to me.
