Try BSPlayer, it can play videos from shared folders on PC. Or Plex, which requires server app, but can show info about movies, etc..

File "adb" now stored in folder "platform-tools" instead of "tools". This should work: ~/Android/android-sdk-mac/platform-tools/adb

~ symbol means your Home folder, e.g. Macintosh HD/Users/Jeff. If you see folders like Desktop, Downloads and Documents, you're in the right place ;)

It's absolutely the same for Android, you can target 1.6 and check for new APIs at runtime. Perhaps some developers are too lazy to do it. There are lot of Android phones, but they are almost similar on API level. I just test an app in emulator and it "just work" on all phones.

Yes, it's really sad that you never know how long your new phone will be supported by manufacturers. There is Nexus One which is getting updates directly from Google, but one phone is not enough, people like choice. Sometimes rooting is good solution, try looking at www.xda-developers.com. We are working on phone database with links to ROMs and guides.

Sorry, but iPad 3G is $629 with same processor and resolution. Why the Tab is overpriced? Because it's smaller? I have an iPad, and it's kinda big and heavy as an ereader.
