I've heard no B & B, but you can rent the home itself, which IMO would bring in a great deal of money considering it's location, and the fact that it's the HGTVVTDH.

Happy Valentine's Day. The Kitchen would be great. I'd bring in a sushi chef and a Hibachi check for todays Holiday next year. I think the stove although smaller than a true hibachi grill, could still work. A Love Boat and a dinner show for a few couples and the kids. Or, I bet the Cliff House (Top of Stowe) is running a great dinner option! Good luck on the last few days!

Thanks for Sharing. I'm guessing that this video was actually taken some time ago, because there is ALOT more snow there now. Nice to see the perspective from the tub position. Perspective is important to consider when designing. I know. I mounted my TV in clear view from a sitting postion on the "john" and I have a mirror behind it incase I'm just going number 1. Things are in reverse, but I never miss a play. =)

HGTV Dream Home : Super Fan Explores the Ski Dorm

There are shades. Some pretty cool powered ones. Also, with summer and fall foliage it is very private. Although, with the home being a HGTV Home there might be peepers in the windows. No other homes right next door, even though it's so super close to the resort.

I second this option, and would do the same if we win. We plan on making this a second home here in Vermont although we hope to spend more time in Stowe than at our current home. Our goal is to spend as much time as possible there and rent in peak times (we ge first pick) to cover costs of owning the home. Donaiting the home for a week or two each year would be a great gift to the local community.

Thanks Gail, good to hear about the Storage, but I have to agree with Lessie, that seeing it would be nice. Thanks for the mental visual of the space in room.
I'm going to win, your not, nah nah goo goo,... Just kidding... It's fun to dream big, I like other dreamers and posters too, makes the dream seem more real and achivable, a common goal for us all. I'm sure Stowe would welcome you, it's a great community. Good luck with your entries. Just got mine in, finishing my coffee and off to remind my wife Michelle to get her entires in, not that I really need to remind her. =)

Just finishing the fixings on our SUPER Bowl feast for tomorrow. Wow, wouldn't it be great to to host the BIG game in this dream home! Just entered. Oh, we are having a Thunder Storm here in VT tonight, still snowing out though. Amazing weather! 8-10 new inches by morning! Might have to watch a little Food Network tonight for last minute food ideas! Good luck, and since the PAT's are out, Go.... you pick!

Hey Dream Home Dreamers.... Just found this post, love the video. There is also a good map of the location of the home. (I've seen it!)
It'be been posted a fiew times. I wish they would do a FAQ page. Maybe we should do one. =) The taxes are based on the prize valuation. I've heard 600k, but that could be less, but the 500k wouldn't cover it all. HOA fee estimates vary, but are several 100 dollars a month, not 1000's. You can rent, but your can not use it as a B&B. I beleive they will take the cash right way, so payments may not be an option, but a mortgage is an option that you could use to then pay the tax.

Great idea with the photos, We've done a simlar concept. I've noticed other photos and art too, I wonder if anti glare class was used. It really helps the reduction of light relections to better highlight the beautiful art. Thanks for sharing Mary. Both my wife and I have our entries in for the day. Good luck dreamers...

HGTV Dream Home : Kitchen Design and Storage Details

The boulders are there naturally, the road is very curvy, because they went around many. There are signs for “watch for falling rocks”, but for the most part they are just there. I think the tour is $20 a person. I didn't want to spend the money, but if you look at my Profile photo you can see I've been to the house. =) The lot is bigger than I thought, and it would be private with foliage on the trees. The overall appearance is impressive as far as style and workmanship, but the home isn't super big. As designed, I think it's meant to be a retreat or a getaway. Definitely a place we would spend long periods of time at, but with a 3 year old and 6 year boy and girl, we didn’t see the home as practical for a family of 4. We would use the home season round and rent it enough to cover taxes and fees. Having the pick of dates would still be a dream for us and a month at a time in the summer is cool. School vacations the rest of the year. The inside, wasn’t viewable, because the blinds were down, probably to keep peepers like us at bay. I didn’t walk around back (hot tub area) because I thought that would be pushing it. No doubt this home would make anyone proud, and I get a very clear impression it would be a home you would share time with groups of people. I family of 2 or 3 would work out perfect. One thing I was surprised about, but did realize after looking at the site again, is that there is no room or storage over the garage. There is a window about the garage doors, but it’s just a super high ceiling inside. It would have been nice to have space for storage. There is little storage, which would also make it hard for a family to live. No shed for the yard tools. Many have mentioned that lack of storage. With two cars in the garage there wouldn’t be a ton of space for bike’s which is a most for Stowe.

Looks like a great skiing weekend here in Vermont. I have a short drive to Smuggs, which is on the other side of Stowe. Even though Smuggs is just over the mountain, in the winter you can't drive over, so it's a 60-90 minute drive to Stowe for us, so Smuggs it is, that is until I win and move to Stowe. =) Those that are extreme, can ski from Smuggs to Stowe. Problem is getting back. Here's a YouTube video of the road that connects to two in the spring or summer, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lBosSnHjgRU This is the Stowe side up, So if you picture the road behind the house, this drive is going right, up the mountain road. You can still find snow in some of the caves in May and June. The video doesn't capture the beautiful mountains when driving up as it focuses more on the road. There are entry points for the Long Trail along this road. Great for hikers. Good luck to all that enter today!
