Daily Camera.com: : Boulder to continue charging nonresidents at open space trailheads - Boulder Daily Camera

Councilwoman Lisa Morzel would disagree with you. She actually SAW someone drive in from Jefferson County, use the trails, and then return without going into the city. Oh, the horror of it all! Myopic for certain. No one from Boulder ever ventures out to other counties to hike? Idiots. Perhaps checkpoints at the city limits. "What is your purpose for entering the Republic? If it is not to shop, then you must pay fee."

Daily Camera.com: : Study of Colo. 7 overhaul through Lafayette, Erie nears completion - Boulder Daily Camera

Exactly You can blame your Boulder County Commissioners for the cluster f@#$ on Arapahoe from Cherryvale to 75th. CDOT has wanted to add mutliple car lanes all the way east to 287 for years, but the County refuses. To quote a former Commissioner: "if we put in more lanes, people will just use them." Meaning, the County wants you to take the bus or bike. Used to be the government worked for the taxpayer. Now, 'tis the other way 'round.

Daily Camera.com: : Erie\'s first open space buy adds 51 acres to town portfolio - Boulder Daily Camera

What a treasure!! (tongue firmly planted in cheek). This 51 acre parcel has, maybe, half a dozen trees and is simply a wind swept piece of land with little value because of it's proximity to the landfills. I know the board can't reveal it's long term plans for Open Space buys, because it can impact the real outcome, but it's going to be interesting to see how this piece of crap land fits into the plan.

Surprised by all of the negative comments on the food, but then, I've never eaten there. My surprise comes from the fact we do occasionally eat at the Lazy Dog in Erie, and the food has always been great at that location.

Daily Camera.com: : CU-Boulder, NOAA study uncovers oil and gas emission\'s \'chemical signature\' - Boulder Daily Camer

".....Palazzolo and others opposed to the industry...." She, and the others, can't really be opposed to the industry, she uses their products each and every day, repeatedly. I believe, however, she wants the industry to operate in a clean and safe manner. I am 100% in favor of making this industry operate in a way that makes our air, ground, and water safe. These studies could help get us there. But, the Boulder Atmospheric Observatory is located on one of the highest points in Erie. The air passing this station comes from great distances, not just from Erie. Erie can pass all the regulations they want, but the impact from their 300 wells, vs the impact from the tens of thousands of other wells in the Wattenberg field will overpower Erie's efforts. The regulations need to come from the state, or federal, level. Otherwise, each town will have different regs that the operators will have to follow. Regs will drive up the cost of this product to the consumer, and I for one am willing to pay more for the safety aspect, but the cost will go even higher if there isn't consistent regulations.

Daily Camera.com: : Gov. Hickenlooper calls for universal background checks on gun sales - Boulder Daily Camera

I see enforcement of this proposal being like the enforcement of the requirement to have car insurance. It ain't gonna happen, except after the fact due to a police stop or worse yet, a trajedy. The honest and dutiful will comply. The criminals or those intent on doing harm will not. Actions by the government to keep the honest and dutiful in line are meaningles, feel-good actions which will do nothing to stop the mass murders.

The only way to enforce it is to require the registration of all guns. This would be akin to requring all cars/trucks/etc to be registered so they can charge a fee when that registration is transferred to another party. However, the control of weapons would be just like the requirement to have car insurance - only the honest will comply. Criminals will not bother, just like they don't bother getting car insurance.

Oh, but the irony here is that we all helped pay for the new lanes with tax dollars, but the "privileged" get to pay for them AGAIN if they want to use them. It's kinda like if there was a higher gasoline tax if that gas was going into a Mercedes, rather than a Ford. BTW, it's not the 1% overlords who devised this plan, it's the state government.

Well, if they all lose their jobs, they made the ultimate sacrifice. I'm guessing, having worked with investment bankers in the past, that middle management had already paid the price, as well as several executives, since the company was already in bankruptcy.

Let's get specific. It's one particular union that refused to accept the offer, not all of their unions. The company's largest union, the Teamsters, had already accepted a new pact. Teamsters have to be pretty upset at this point, since most of the workers who will lose their jobs are Teamsters. And for those who wonder how this company is still in business since they're selling crap snack foods,, they had sales of $2.5Billion per year. That's a lot of crap snack food. But, it's certainly enough to keep lots of people employed and a few wealthy. Look for these brands to come back, under different ownership and different deals with many different employees.

Daily Camera.com: : Superior residents call for fewer new homes as comprehensive plan debated - Boulder Daily Camera

Wow. If this isn't the most perfect example of newcomers to the area wanting to shut everyone else out, I don't know what is. Now that you've got your slice of paradise, nobody else can move in? There aren't more selfish motives, and if you've lived in Colorado for more than 20 yrs (me more than 40), you've seen this time and time again. People move in and want to stop development after them. "I don't think the pressure for the housing is coming from any existing resident in Superior." says Mr. Danzer. Huh? When Superior transitioned from a few dirt streets to the sprawl that it is, there was no pressure from existing residents for those new homes, either. And, Mr. Danzer, resident of 3 yrs, when you purchased your home you obviously came in from out of town. Come on, folks. Get over yourselves.

Daily Camera.com: : Erie 2A: Voters closely split on raising property taxes for new police building - Boulder Daily Came

"While there was no formal opposition to 2A, those opposed to it have said that a levy increase isn't justified during tough economic times." Meanwhile, voters approve 3A for St Vrain schools? No, this isn't about a levy increase during tough economic times. This is more about voters sending a message to the Board of Trustees about how the Town's money is being spent. With the need to build a Police/Court bldg, with roads needing repairs, with sewer improvements pending, the Trustees (despite a survey that told them to do otherwise) spent $1.1Million on a SKATEPARK. The survey results were ignored. Public input was ignored. When voters feel ignored, there is one sure way to make your voice heard - at the polls. Get your act together Erie Board of Trustees.
