It seemed to me Kramer came off as the most unlikeable character. And nearly everyone else as the heroes. They were definitely the adults in the room. Kramer said so many stupid things any body watching could see how manipulative (and ego driven) she and Greenpeace are/were.

Big Hollywood : Audiences Share Some Blame in Hollywood's Decline

I loved the subtitled versions of Dragon Tattoo and Let the Right One In. It doesn't take long for the brain to get used to the words on the screen. I usually don't notice them after a while. And hearing it in the original language is so much better than dubbed.....

Big Government : Tuesday Open Thread: Fredericksburg Edition

Actually it was McClellen who was relieved of command. After the stalemate at Antitiem, Lee retreated and McClellen didn't pursue. With an army 4X larger he could have ended the war then (maybe). Lee rested his army, had the high ground at Fredericksburg and put a serious hurting on Burnside's Union army. Grant was off in Mississippi somewhere. On December 17, 1862, Grant issued his infamous General Order 11, expelling all Jews from Western Tenn,Kentucky and Mississippi ( and why do I remember all this crap? Not really sure.)

Try "Monsters" for a pretty good SF/horror movie. http://www.monstersfilm.com/ . Only 2 actors and one of them is director/producer. All special effects done on his home computer. I thought it was great (and it's on NetFlix)

"Any movie that promotes casual sex, which this film seems to do, based on the trailer, the title, and everything else I've heard about it, is not worth watching, no matter how "funny" it is. " kinda limiting yourself, aren't you? The classics of the '30s, '40s and '50s were all about casual sex. It's just then it was implied. And anyway "Friends with benefits" is not a new concept. Ask you parents.Or your grandparents.

Have to agree on starting me reading..... Teachers couldn't get me interested in reading. Comic books helped but that wasn't the answer. Lord of the Rings, then the Hobbit, then Dune Trilogy and Foundation Trilogy. From then(mid '60's) on, I always had a book either started or finishing.

I agree 100% with both comments. When I saw the movie, it happened so quick I kinda scratched my head and thought "what was that?" Not explaining what was going on changed the whole movie. 12 and 13 yr olds "sneaking a peak" would have been fine (with no frontal shot). Showing the mutilation with no explanation was just poor editing. That being said did Elle take in Oskar after Hakan dies because he/she cared for him or to have someone take care of her?

One thing you have to realize is the "girl" vampire wasn't a girl but a boy who was mutilated. That led to his being a vampire 300 to 400 years prior.
