This article is an absolute lie, and I am simply amazed David that you would so deliberately distort what he said. I saw his Fox News interview and he clearly explained that his projections were based on a different polling model, as were many, that assumed turnout among Obama's core groups would be down. It was not, and his comment about "This is not your father's America" was referring to the fact that the demographics of the country have changed, at which point he said the Republicans must acknowledge and adapt to that by attracting more minorities and younger voters. So you turned an obvious and earnest statement about the need to broaden the party into an anti-Obama screed, exactly what it was not. You should be ashamed. Why the need to lie?

The New Civil Rights Movement : Romney Campaigning Off Storm: Holding 'Relief Event' With NASCAR's Petty

Good heavens, your shameless groveling before Obama grows worse by the day. You have gone from being a useful source of information about glbt rights to being a shill for Obama who can't find a single talking point from his campaign you disagree with. Obama must love this because it allows him to talk about something other than his pathetic economic record, but of course he's not exploiting it at all. Right. Even Bloomberg told him don't come to New York, but I'm sure B.O. will be talking about Sandy right up until election day.

The New Civil Rights Movement : What Romney's Promise To Support ENDA For Log Cabin Republicans Endorsement Really Means

David, you have fallen into this pattern of saying demonstrably false things when it comes to Romney and LCR. For a couple of days now, you keep repeating this allegation that Romney now opposes hospital visitation rights even though he has stated several times he supports those rights in the context of domestic partnerships. You apparently are referring to a recent statement by Bay Buchanan that states would be allowed to decide otherwise, but that's the current reality. It is states, not the federal government, that set adoption policies, hospital visitation rights, and marriage and family law. Clearly, you know that, so why do you deliberately misrepresent Romney's policies on this point. It's a good thing these policies are decided state by state, and who has proposed otherwise? There is indeed plenty of room to criticize Romney, but lying about his politices when they're positive is indefensible, even in your quest as an extension of the Obama campaign.

The New Civil Rights Movement : Obama During Debate: 'People Will Look It Up.' They Did, Big Time.

Government guarantees are not government assistance? of course they are. Ford didn't get a bailout. The foreign car companies who build their cars here didn't get a bailout. All the bailout did was subsidize the unions and the Ford company at the expense of the taxpayers and other car companies, which would have absorbed many of the laid off workers, if it had come to that. It's funny, liberals are always screaming about corporate welfare, but it's usually they who advocate it.

What does that mean, "the party doesn't even want these gay groups?" Log Cabin and GOProud has many supporters in the party and in the conservative movement. It's always astounded me that gay Dems take the side of the religious right in saying we shouldn't be in the Rep. Party, like we're supposed to kowtow to the right and let them decide who can be in the party and who can't. What a strange alliance that is. Their opposition to us makes us want to stay in and reform the party all the more, and yet instead of applauding efforts to bring gay rights to every party and community, they say instead to just vote Democrat, clearly a failed strategy and achieving equal rights.

You really need to come up with something more intelligent than the "self-hating closet case" crap you always roll out. The fact is that one quarter to one third of gays and lesbians vote Republican, and they do so for a variety of reasons. As far as fading away, LCR, GOProud, and their allies are more prominent in the party than ever, and rank and file Republicans support most of the gay rights agenda, even if you're too ignorant to even know that. By the way, how many "self respecting" gay Democrats opposed Bill Clinton after he gave us DOMA and DADT? Were you "self hating" because you continued to support him, even after he bragged about these bills in ads on Christian radio stations during the '96 election?

The New Civil Rights Movement : Obama On Daily Show: 'We're Not Going To Amend Constitution' To Restrict LGBT Rights

I am as opposed the the FMA as you are, but you fail to point out that the president has no legal role in constitutional amendments. It's not something he even signs like a regular bill. Romney has acknowledged there's little likelihood such an amendment would pass Congress, and indeed it failed to get through a Republican Congress when Bush was president. It doesn't have a chance. So it's basically a mute issue, not really relevant to the presidential campaign.

The New Civil Rights Movement : You Know Obama Won And Romney Lost When Drudge Looks Like This

What a pointless article this is. Instead of refuting any specific point Drudge made, you put a red arrow beside it to prove exactly what? The facts he stated speak for themselves. If anyone outright lied at the debate, it was Obama with his outrageous statement that he labeled the attack a terrorist plot right off the bat. His statement said no such thing, and his spokesmen trotted out the film over and over as the reason for the attack. Surely you know this, David, but you just say anything to tear down Romney and idolize Obama. As I've said before, you should stick to glbt articles and information, which is where you make a useful contribution. Knock off the partisan bull.

You need to know what you're talking about before spouting off. When Social Security was begun, the retirement age was congruent with life expectancyl, and the program was designed as a safety net. It's no longer that, and most retired people have received far, far more back in benefits than they ever paid in, especially those in their 80s and 90s. So you they are NOT just getting back what they paid into it, but far more. The imbalance in Medicare is even worse, and it younger people and working people who are paying the price. People like you, really, are the ones who should be ashamed for lying about the system and piling all this debt onto other people. It's you who are spoiled, not Mr. Ryan. You talk about the middle class, but it's the middle class who is and will be paying the price for the out of control entitlements. Shame on you.

The New Civil Rights Movement : On Our Radar - North Carolina's Paul Stam And Amendment One

The generalized comments about the Republican Party by this writer reveal a profound ignorance about both the party itself and about building coalitions to bring needed political changes. This one dimensional leftist philosophy that we need only focus on one political party is clearly and historically wrong. From the 35 House Republicans who voted for ENDA to the 8 Republican senators who put the repeal of DADT over the top to the majority of rank and file Republicans who support either same sex marriage or civil unions, there is lots of Republican support for expanding gay and lesbian rights. To ignore that and denigrate potential allies, as this ignorant writer and her allies have chosen to do, ultimately sets back the equality movement by missing opportunities to bring about needed social change because their own hatred prevents them from working with people with whom they are not in total agreement.

The New Civil Rights Movement : What Will It Cost You If The Supreme Court Kills The Individual Mandate?

David, How ironic you would use the self-serving argument from an organization whose members will directly benefit financially from the mandate (by the way, CAP is not "independent" but a very ideological liberal group). The only reason the other studies show that potential increase is because of the mandate to cover preexisting conditions. You get rid of that and the other mandates built into the law and the cost doesn't go up. In fact, the fewer the mandates, the lower the cost of policies designed to cover catastrophic illness, what insurance is supposed to be about. I don't want to have to pay for lots of services I don't want and won't need, from coverage for pregnancy and birth control to autism and wellness subsidies. That's what makes health insurance expensive, not the cost of basic major medical and hospitalization.
