calm down... 1. try to downgrade to IOS 4.1, and then download redsn0w and start the process from the scratch 2.if this won't do.. seems that you get a dead end :(

read carefully! IF YOU DOESN'T MIND WARRANTIES!! READ FURTHER by now the IOS 4.2.1 is only thetered, so i reccomend to stay away from update the Iphone to stock IOS 4.2.1 steps to follow: download redsn0w, (i use a trick here... i used the IOS 4.1 instead of the IOS 4.2.1, so i got it unlockabe and unthetered ; X D); and you must choose the option 'use iPad's baseband' (the program fetch it from apple servers, so expect a big 'waiting time') when everything is done, use ultrasn0w to unlock

NO, YOU DON'T!!! if you use MAC use the PwnageTool to make a custom firmware (you need the iPad Fw 3.2.2 as well, in order to fetch the baseband (06.16), that's unlockable, and put into the IOS 4.2.1 (i use another trick here... i used the IOS 4.1 instead of the IOS 4.2.1, so i got it unlockabe and unthetered ; X D ) then you had to do a restore of the firmware using iTunes (using your fresh custom firmware) then using ultrasno0w to unlock it if you use PC then: download redsn0w, (the IOS 4.1 trick works here too X D), and you must choose the option 'use iPad's baseband' (the program fetch it from apple servers, so expect a big 'waiting time') when everything is done, again use ultrasn0w to unlock

its pretty simple... if you use mac and have tel latest version of PT, you must use the iPad FW to load the baseband (06.15), that's unlockable into the custom firm. for IOS 4.2.1, and then it's just make a restoration... if you use a PC you had to download redsn0w, then choose the option 'use ipad baseband'... by now this thing needs intrenet, in order to fetch the ipad's baseband for the offical apple servers ; ), maybe later the dev-team will make a redn0w that doesn't need the online process, and can fetch the iPad's baseband directly for the fimrware donwloaded on your computer

yes, you do.. you now had an Thetehred unlockable iphone, now you had to use the redsn0w in order to jailbreak the IOS, and every time that you turn off the device YOU MUST start ir CONNECTED to the PC / MAC and use redsno0w with the option 'start just thetered, in order to make it work... until @comex brings up an unthetered fix

READ CAREFULLY!!! as it seems.. there's NO unlock for IOS 4.1 (baseband 05.14.02, bootloader 06.08) the way, by now is download iPad FW 3.2.2 and iPhone IOS 4.2.1, and wait for redsn0w to come out in order to do an upgrade with the baseband 06.15 fixed (unlockable) if you had IOS 4.1 (like me), and had cydia, if you already intalled ultasn0w... go and remove it.. then do an entire power off / power on process, go to cydia and open ultrasn0w.. you'll see 1.2 version installing it is a waste of time... the device never get signal

please read my other post... 1.if you update with iTunes (no custom) you'll end with an pretty expensive UNLOCKABLE iPod Touch XD 2. you'll had to wait for the redsn0w... and, in the meantime, try to download the iPad 3.2.2 FW and the Iphone 4.2.1 IOS just for 'safety' 3. as it seems updating the iphone with this 'fix' would circumveint something (i'm not sure), and if you try in the future to update you'll end crashing the device, so if you want to update again, had to wait for a jaibroken/unlocked metod

ok... for all those that are lost.. i figured out: MAC ONLY: 1. download iPad FW 3.2.2 and iPhone 4.2.1 2. download latest PT 3. if you have a 3gs you had to read the 'update 1' (at the bottom) 4. create a custom ipsw using PT... 5. when the program ask for the baseband YOU MUST point to ipad's 3.2.2 ipsw 6. restore the iphone using the custom firmware taht has been created 7. run ultrans0w and voilá!!! unlocked and jailbroken en español 1. descargar el firm. FOR WINDOWS USERS: 1. download iPad FW 3.2.2 and iPhone 4.2.1 wait 'till the new release of redsn0w is ready and yet, wait for an update od the install proces en español 1. descargar el firm. 3.2.2 del iPad y el IOS 4.2.1 del iPhone esperar la nueva versión del redsn0w, y esperar una actualización del proceso de actualización
