There are other ways ,and I may be wrong but don't we already have state sponsored hosptital and clinics, I believe we do. And who pays for those? All taxpayers. And as far as religous belief , the freedom of expressing them is what this nation was built around. Being liberal really should not be a reason to think we are all 'entitled" to things. I believe right now the best thing that could happen to our Congress and Senate is to have term limits. It has been the exercise of our civic duties that has lead us to the point where we are at. These people have been duly elected and will continue to be re-elected as long as people with the mindset of "what can you (gov't) do for me?" continue to exercise their civic duty. However in saying that , not do I only believe that their should be term limits but there should also be a limit to the amount of "perks" our supposed "civil servants' receive. No longer should they continue to receive lifetime retirement benefits nor lifetime health care benefits ( and on and on). There once was a time where being a congressman or senator was a "civil duty" performed for the people and not a career path for the individual. Those times need to be returned and one of the best ways to turn it in that direction is to impose term limits and make being a congressman and senator a civil duty again. As in the 9th principle-9. The government works for me. I do not answer to them, they answer to me.
