I remember the articles about the "Aspenization" of Lyons. To Aspenize, you need high class, wealthy folks, an airport, some decent skiing and cheap labor that can be bussed in. Lyons has the latter available. They are going to kick out the "marginal".
Actually, you are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. He ALLEGEDLY committed a crime. Everyone knows when a cop draws his weapon, he intends to kill. Lesson to college kids: Hallucinogens will end your life.
What a tragic mess. I suppose his falling body posed a risk to officers a flight of stairs below, so they pumped him full of lead to slow the fall. This isn't the time in our society to fool around. Cops will always shoot to protect their own lives, and it just cuts down on the court loads. I was told by a cop that "the hardest part of shooting a suspect is filling out the paperwork".

That's funny! Go to Aspen Ideas Festival, or get the chance to meet the residents, movie stars, hedge fund managers and billionaires, and you might reconsider the comparison. Lyons might have a millionaire living in the town, but they're generally downbeat, isolationist and conservative. Aspen is rather liberal, but certainly balanced in ideology.
Lyons just needs to triple taxes. Or they can get back to the speed trap on the way to Estes Park. Elk Rut is upon us! They kicked out the less affluent residents, and they like to say Lyons is being "Aspenized". Well, Aspen is a compelling place to visit. Lyons...not so much.
Wish he woulda done a better job "serving" Twitter shareholders, eh?
At least the cops didn't pull up with SWAT teams and fire at tree trimmers with "weapons' such as trimmers and chain saws. Likely that would have been the outcome in Boulder.
When are they putting in suitable replacement trees?
