I'm sure Hanks has done a lot. But these people see our servicemen and women as either victims or racist baby killers not as heroes or defenders. They think most of them are in the service because our 'evil, capitalistic system' (that has made them rich) joined because they needed the job; not that they were motivated by love of country or patriotism. Those concepts are alien to guys like Hanks.
