Common sense dictates that the only way for the David's to recoup their sizable investment is to do whatever they can to get promotion as soon as possible. Our parachute payment next year is the same as this year, but they may decide not to "loan" the club the same amount they did last year from their personal fortunes. Which are quoted in the 500 million pound range between them. The books will be balanced by selling some players, particularly those with larger wages. But as we have seen with Reading and Southampton this year, the wage bill doesn't necessarily determine who wins. Im not being naive here. I know how vital it is to the club to gain promotion.
