The company was fined $1 million for having illegals as employees. What happened to the illegals after they were discovered? Were they deported? Or, were they just let go to search for work elsewhere while the govt. collects its $1 million?

Why do we need a new law to do this? It shouldn't take a new law for government to try and manage the people's money better. If fighting waste and fraud is such an important issue, why haven't they been aggresively pursuing it from "day 1?' Lastly, will the AP report back by the 2012 deadline to show us that they actually met their $50 billion target....I think not.

After holding a joint press conference criticizing Arizona's anti-illegal immigration law which gives authorities the ability to ask for ID after someone is already involved with police on a seperate matter, these people have the NERVE to ask for ID to get into dinner! Why? I'm sure there are lots of "undocumented guests" who are just there to eat!

I'm unconvinced that employers will be enticed to hire if they still have no demand for their products or services. Why add to your payroll if you aren't making any more (via your goods) to cover their pay, even if they are exempt from SS tax.

This is the same president who said he was cleaning up the mess others had caused, telling them to be quiet and get out of the way. This is the same president who said he "won," so nevermind anyone else's ideas. This is the same president, who at every turn, blames the previous administration for every problem we face. Now he wants to put partisanship behind him? He's seen the polls and knows the tide is changing regarding where the people of this country are placing their blame for our economy, which, despite his $787 billion stimulus plan, has seen record unemployment this past year. He drew his partisan line in the sand, but now that he doesn't' have 60 votes in the Senate, he might actually have to work with the other side, instead of blaming and rolling over them. Well, sorry, but it's too late. The president has shown what he's all about, and We The People want none of it.
