Some of you may remember this movie: "Mr. Smith Goes to Washington." I went and rented it in the Classics section last night. I could not believe how close to "current" this show was! I didn't remember the part where the Senators were making shady deals- cause they owed "big money" people favors. I wish we could all send our Senators and Representatives in D.C. a copy of it! I'd like to ask them: Which character have you become?" Go rent the dvd! Wonder how much it would cost to buy it online? I have a Senator and Representatives who are about to get a copy!

Weezo, I wish I could believe what you are saying is true. Unfortunately there is not much in that article that isn't factual. If you believe this to be pure propoganda, try googling some of the things they listed....it's all there in black and white. Don't believe what you are told- research for yourself. The rest of the fascist plans are still in Congress, in the form of a bill. Look for yourself. What's not in Congress is in the court system somewhere, as that seems to be the route this administration chooses when the Congress actually does decide to stand up to him. Hasn't happened much- but check the FCC....you can find interesting stuff there.

This gives the feds the perfect opprotunity to ask for the National Tax that they are bandering about. It started off at 10%- now they are talking 25%...on EVERYTHING you buy. Time to ask your STATE LEGISLATURES to ask for a Constitutional Convention with the sole purpose of repealing the 16TH & 17TH amendments! This would cut them off at the knees. Take the power & money back from the Federal government- and give it back to the state!

The time has come to fight back in ways that are EFFECTIVE. Emails and phone calls are not with the 111Th Congress! My state legislature is in recess right now- and I doubt that much can be done during the present session- but I am planting the seed, and praying it grows into something fruitful! The time for getting on the Internet and fussing about our loss of rights and freedoms is over. Our emails are like using bb's...it's time to bring in the canons....your STATE LEGISLATURES! Tell them THEY should be the power base of our government- not the ones in D.C..

This would return the power back to the states- not Congress and outside interests. If our Senators and Representatives did not vote according to the desire of their constituents, the STATE Legislatures would not send them back! If you go to : http://www.votesmart.com and see who contributed to your Senators and Representatives campaigns, you would understand why they are voting the way they are! Let's cut them off at the knees, and return our government back to the people! It took me hours to download all the email addresses into my contact list- and I found out that yahoo has a limit to the number of emails you can send per hour- so it took some time. I won't lie about that.....but it was worth it!

I don't know about the rest of you- but I feel we have to stop the disintegration of our personal and state rights. This administration is quickly eroding rights and powers that we have taken for granted most of our lives. If his gang in D.C. does stand up and refuse to pass something....he goes through the courts. We have tried emailing our Senators and Representatives, they do not even PRETEND to listen anymore. It's time we get out of the box and stop trying to figure out the rules to the game they are playing. They have changed the rules- so it does not help us any if we are the only ones abiding by them. I wrote EVERY Senator and Representative in my STATE Legislature and asked for their opinion on calling for a Constitutional Convention with the sole purpose of repealing the 16TH and 17TH amendment. One will halt the far reaching taxes Congress is levying, the other would put it back the way the drafters of the Constitution intended- our State Legislature would vote on our Senators and Reps in D.C.: they would answer to the STATE, not their special interests, PACS, Lobbyists and etc.

ALERT! There is a Resolution in Congress right now that calls for a repeal of the TERM LIMITS for PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES! It is in it's 2nd committee- NONE OF THE PRESS HAVE MENTIONED THIS THAT I KNOW OF! It went through 1 committee already - now it's in the House Judiciary Subcommittee on Constitution, Civil Rights, and Civil Liberties! It was introduced by Jose` Serrano, a Democrat from New York. The summary of the resolution says: Proposing an amendment to the Constitution of the United States to repeal the 22nd article of amendment, thereby removing the limitation on the number of terms an individual may serve as President. Here's something to think about. If Acorn can run the government by taking dues from the poor (and having most of it stolen or embezzled) than think what we could do if we paid dues ourselves, and used it to back the candidate of OUR choice. We could all change our voter registration cards to Independent- pick the person we think most represents OUR values- and get them to run. We have learned a lot on these 912 websites- we have learned to write press releases, gather to get attention on OUR issues- do email campaigns, support or oppose bills offensive or illogical to US- we could pull it off! Every so often a NEW PARTYcomes onto the scene...and takes off! Is there anyone here who wouldn't donate to save the country- or if you couldn't give money- give your expertise, or time? Obama WAS RIGHT- it's TIME FOR A CHANGE WE CAN BELIEVE IN! It's just that WE are the only ones we can believe in- not the republicans, or democrats.....it's us! (That could be the NAME of our party! THE US PARTY! Or we could look to http://www.thepatrickhenrycaucus.com for guidance and unity. We might find a candidate from one of the people signed up. Ok- call me paranoid- I'm beginning to believe this is all part of a strategy to ENSURE the country is completely broke. That is the logical outcome of all this spending. Even a middle school student knows you can't do what our government is doing and survive. Take the guns, run the banks, control energy, dictate to private businesses, change education, MAKE everyone do "service", take over medicine and pharmaceuticals. Even our homes are no longer safe. Why don't you just tell us the truth Mr. Obama?! What's the REAL plan?! Obviously you have a strategy-but you aren't telling us the goal. How come?! What is your "Long-term vision for this country? I need to know.

Have you joined one of the "we surround you" groups yet? I joined the one in my area- most of them have a web site now- where we keep in touch and post things of interest to us, but they all have different names. There is a link at this site that lets you click onto your state and it lists the ones in your area. Join up! There is a march on Washington planned! To get the info- find a group in your area!

To some degree- you may have a point. There is a lot of fussing here sometimes- but that's ok. As for finding a good idea on this site that would unite us- have you posted anything like that yourself- or are you just fussing too?! One more point- as to being politically biased- just because we are united against the things this administration is doing- does not mean we are against Democrats. I am an independent voter myself, and I wanted his administration to unite the country. So far it hasn't. It's a shame- but I'd be willing to join forces if I could sincerely support his legislation. I can't. The anger comes from our frustration at not being heard- and being attacked when we try to get their attention. This is not the change we voted for and most of us just want a level playing field. We get frustrated. You need to look past the rhetoric, and find ways to unite, as you said. It will all work out.

That could be because anyone who watches his show already knows all about him. He has never tried to hide it, and is quite open about it. We don't care where he came from-since we know where he is going. All we care about is that he is here. I don't have a degree myself- and if he doesn't ask me abut my income- I have no reason to care about his! I hope he makes plenty- cause he's put his neck on the line to get the truth out for us!

Dave- do you belong to a meet-up group? I do not know where you are from- but I live in New Orleans and saw the show today too! We are on it! If congress won't investigate- we are going to ask our state auditor to do it! My meet-up organizer is finding out how to get all the groups in Louisiana to get on the "fast track" on this one! It is unfortunate that all govt. offices were closed by the time the show was over- but we have emails waiting on them in the morning, and phone calls will be placed! IF we can get the state to investigate- and they find proof- Congress will have little choice but to acknowledge an investigation is needed. Maybe we can get them off the Census- out of the elections- and out of the campaign business! Keep in touch with a meet-up group- or local tea party group. Look on the Internet...keep in touch- cause at some point we will need email petitions and letters sent!
