10 years ago @ LordsofPain.net - CM Punk Interview Ends... · 0 replies · +1 points

My first impression after reading this is man Punk's a real a**hole.

But after thinking about it a bit, I can understand why he'd be annoyed. I don't agree with the way he acted, but I can understand.

Think of it this way. You and your GF/BF have been dating for years and you have a bad breakup. For the next few years, EVERYONE (Friends/Relatives/Aquaintainces/etc) ask you about her or why you broke up. When you finally think you're done answering their questions, bam, someone you haven't seen in a long time brings it back up again. I understand his annoyance, because we only hear about a few articles where someone asks him a WWE/wrestling question, imagine how often he has to hears stuff like that. He's so paranoid now.

That being said. I don't agree with his actions. Those questions (while extremely annoying) come with the territory. Everything about CM Punk is wrestling related. If he doesn't want to be associated with WWE/his past wrestling career. he should use his real name or another alias, and cut the CM Punk character off completely. You gotta accept the good with the bad, it's the price of fame.

I'm not sure about Aries but has EC3 ever wrestled in the 6 sided ring? Those are the only two that I've seen comment on the issue and neither of them have alot of experience wrestling in a ring with 6 sides. I know AJ Styles said in the past it was harder to wrestle in a 6 sided ring but I don't remember if he said it hurt more. It would be interested to see if others who have spent lots of time wrestling in the 6 sided ring have the same opinion. I'm sure TNA can get together with the wrestlers and reconstruct the ring to address any issues.

Which had nothing to do with the product and more with poor management.

I don't understand how having 2 extra sides hurts more than 4? Would 3 hurt less then? I think the real issue is that most of the wrestlers aren't use to it and that unfamiliarity makes it more difficult for them to perform compared to a traditional 4 sided ring.

The 6 sided ring is more than "just" a ring, it's was more of an identity to TNA, sort of like the Octagon is synonymous with the UFC. They should also bring back their unique spin on gimmick matches, like their battle royal, where the wrestlers had a minute to get in the ring to be able to participate, and the last two people left would have a normal match. TNA has been trying too hard to find success by being like WWE instead of finding success in being TNA, an alternative. It worked for ECW.

Team 3D got most of it's prestige from their work OUTSIDE TNA. When people think of team 3D/Dudleys, do they think of their work in TNA first? No, they're most known for their work in ECW/WWE etc. TNA is basically saying that the wrestlers who made the company must take a second seat to those that came from other promotions. I don't see how some of you are ok with that.

TNA really!? As great as a tag team 3D are, there are so many other wrestlers who should go in first. As it stands, there is nobody in TNA's HOF that could be considered "homegrown", everyone else from the other major promotions. Why not induct Team Canada? Or America's Most Wanted if you're looking for a tag team. Sure they might not have the prestige of a team 3D, but they are great tag teams that represented TNA.

I don't agree. They could have added: Sonjay Dutt, Homicide, Petey Williams, Taylor Wilde, Awesome Kong, "The Wildcat" Chris Harris, Sharkboy, etc. along with those ex-WWE guys.

Did TNA just copy-paste WWE's alumni section and add AJ Styles and Sting? lol. Speaks volumes on how they view their brand that they would fill it with ex-WWE guys instead of those that helped build TNA.
