Glenn Beck - The 912 Project : 5/19/09: Since The Govt Is Running Car Companies, They Might As Well Set Mileage Standards

A funny lesson I learned several years back. I was in Brazil visiting some friends, the young lady we were visiting wanted to take us up on the high hill overlooking the ocean. It was me, I am 6'3" 230 lbs my wife, my two sons and Annie, as we started up the hill in 1st gear I shifted the awesome Fiat with its 1.2 liter engine into 2nd gear and the car almost came to a complete stop, I promptly shifted back into 1st and soared to the top of the hill redlining the tacometer. I wonder what my gas mileage was as I went up the hill. Point here is I am not against better mileage, but just because a vehicle tests at 40mpg (the little Fiat was 41 mpg) under ideal conditions does not mean it will get same mileage in the real world. My guess is a fully loaded Hummer would have had better mileage going up that hill than the stripped down Fiat did.

Glenn Beck - The 912 Project : 5/12/09: New Poll - On The Question Of Health Care, How Do You Feel?

Simple solutions give employers a tax deduction, reward healthy lifestyles by having reduced rates (this would be the individual insurance companies choice) , do not tax benefits as income.

Glenn Beck - The 912 Project : 5/4/09: GOP Begins Re-Branding, But Will It Work?

Republican or Democrat there is not a whole lot of difference. The Bible says of Christians you will know them by their fruit, it also says beware of false teachers. While the Bible is speaking of a much more important issue (our salvation) these verses can apply to what we see from the GOP. They speak a good game, but what do they do is whats important (know them by their Fruit). This became very clear to me in the 2004 debate between George Bush and John Kerry, speaking on energy Bush said we need to open up more areas for drilling and be prpared to use the strategic oil reserve, and Kerry said we need to dip into the strategic oil reserve and look into tapping other sources, tell me what is the difference. After that night I have looked carefully at what these guys are saying and if you really get into it they say the same thing differently. Think back to Obama and McCain there was a very thin line between what each of them were saying. We the People need to pay attention to the actions of our elected officials and if their actions do not match their words vote the suckers out.

Glenn Beck - The 912 Project : America's Wish List

I am a simple Land Surveyor from Virginia. One thing about surveyors is we are problem solvers that is a big part of the work we do. I have owned my business for almost 20 years and have seen a lot of ups and downs, but one thing that I have always done is I don't spend it if I don't have it. I find there are many simple solutions to our government and here are a few of my suggestions:1. Read the Constitution before you run for office and understand what it says. Before you take the oath you should be required to read it. 2. Do away with federal income tax. Have instead a National Sales tax, this way if you have the money to spend you will contribute more to taxes, if you dont spend you won't. 3. Health care (see item 1) a socialized health care system is not in our constitution. If the government wants to help out with health care they should help employers provide it by giving tax deductions . I have 3 employees including myself my monthly Health Care costs are $2080.00 per month(I pay 100% because its the right thing to do). 4. Helping the poor, allow a 100% tax deduction for charitable giving, more people will give and more will be given.

A simple solution to healthcare allow 100% tax deduction for charitable contributions not reduce the deduction as the current administration proposes. If 100% could be deducted more will be given hey maybe even Joe "don't mess with Joe" Biden would contribute. I donate about 20% of my income right now I would probably give more with 100% deduction, however, I will not give less no matter what Obama does. Along with this the government could allow hospitals to have a charitable wing where people could donate so those without health insurance could get treatment through the local hospital. I know that our Church has on many occasions helped people with medicine and doctors bills and with more giving we could do more. Who wants the government in charge of the money it will take to cover all. We are a people that do and will help others when called upon.

Glenn Beck - The 912 Project : GM CEO Steps Down, White House Backs Bankrupcy and Buyers Incentives

well Barack can't say I inherited this problem he has created a big one. Government in the Auto Business, it will be like Amtrack totally in the red and guess who will be taking up the slack, us the taxpayer. Bad enough we bail them out now we will have to keep this one going just like Amtrack and the Postal service. It make me sad and mad that our country is being stolen from us.

Glenn Beck - The 912 Project : If you've read the 5000 Year Leap then you know ...

Fact is Democrat or Republican many do not get it that we are a Republic. You need to look at the individual not the party loyalty, they need to be committed to the U.S. and its Constitution and that is it. My Representatives Jim Webb and Mark Warner once elected became lock step with the Democrat Party that is what is disturbing to me they place more importance on Party than Country. This goes on on both sides of the ilse. We need change in D.C. for sure, and it will come when we the People demand that our politicians stand on the Constitution of the U.S. and not the Republican or Democratic Party.

I am a small business owner I mean small including myself 3 employees, this whole mess really frustrates me. Bushes 750 bil. bailout and now the Dems spending to make up for lost time. I operate a business and when things get slow you tighten your belt, when times are good you buy new equipment give employees bonuses, and remember this, to save for the down times. I have always taken care of my employees as far as health care I currently pay out $2084.00 a month for myself and my employees, my employees pay nothing. There is a simple solution to get people to pay for health care ,give them a tax break. if I got say a 50% tax break on what I pay for Health Care that would be roughly $12000.00 per year take that across the country many small businessmen and women would be able to afford to pay for health care for their employees and it would be far cheaper than what Obama is proposing for Socialized Medicine. Socialized Medicine scares me I saw my Grandfather suffer in Canada my Mom finally brought him to America where he could get taken care of. My Grandfather was a WWI hero and still got treated like crap. We do not need this there is a better way Capitalism.
