Use superglue to hold the cut together. No really. It's non-toxic and acts very much like a scab, falling off the skin after a few days, ie once the skin has had a chance to knit.

If you said something like "I could care less, but it'd be a real struggle' it'd make more sense. On it's own it just says that you still care to some degree. The point of the expression is to say that you don't care at all, not that you just aren't interested enough at the moment to do whatever. At least that's how I see it.

If you bake the bacon rather than fry it most of the fat can be rendered off pretty easily. It's also way crispier. Eating fat isn't strictly a problem either, provided you're sensible about the amounts.

I keep thinking of the adage 'Never trust a skinny chef', but since he's been a fatty in the past I figure it's alright.

Check out Alton Brown's Good Eats show, he shares your hate of unitaskers and usually gives tips on substitutions in his recipes. He also does a good job of explaining the 'why' of steps while he cooks so you are less bound to the particular ingredient being used.

Spinach caneloni (sp) is pretty good for this situation. Make up a few tubes for the veg-head and then add a bit of pre cooked minced beef (fry it and drain the fat) to the mixture before stuffing the rest of the tubes. Stir frys also work from this angle.

I've made this pasta sauce a few times and it's pretty excellently tasty without any meat added. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PA7Fkk5eGM0

A few more clear years at the end for a lifetime of forsaking meat? That's a tall ask.

Absolutely. I had one cpr trainer go so far as to tell us that the correct way to perform it was "Bloody hard and bloody fast" rather than worrying about doing harm.
