Jennifer, I haven\\\'t had the pleasure of trying Tempt yet but think it would definitely work well in this recipe. I will keep an eye out for Tempt and try it again next time. There will probably be a next time soon since everyone enjoyed this bread a great deal!

Brown rice is not good because it takes the body too much energy to break down. The night before a race I go with white rice. Easy to break down and absorb.

LOL, I never thought I'd have my food philosophy compared to a competitive eater and junk food junkie :). But, you are correct, he does tout the same macronutrient philosophy. He goes with greasy burgers and pizza and I go with more natural foods.

Fast Foodie : The Weekly Muffin: Gluten-Free Apple Cinnamon Granola Muffins

The pear bread with sour cherry sounds delicious. Maybe I will have to try a pear/sour cherry muffin at some point! I really love bean flours in gluten free baking. As Karen mentioned, spelt is a no-no for gluten free and the egg would really do me in. Spaetzel when done well looks delicious, but I just can\\\'t do it!

I don\\\'t think they would taste the same as coconut butter definitely has its own distinct taste, but it is definitely worth trying if you are anti-butter or vegan. I am with you on the love for muffins, such a delicious way to start the day! Thanks Nicola!

Fast Foodie : Taming the Green Monster

I have eaten this salad everyday this week it is so delicious. As for the broccoli and all cruciferous vegetables, they are very gas producing and this is reduced by lightly steaming them. So I guess I should say, steaming it reduces this affect (the effect on me is akin to eating gluten, I get a big bloated belly after raw broccoli). There is a good deal of research out there that says that soy is not good for you in the amount people are taking it in. People drink soy milk, soy cheese, soy this, soy that. I don't eat an processed products, so I think a small amount of soy, prepared in the traditional manners is ok. I think it is making sure it is a small part of your diet. Moderation is key.

Fast Foodie : The Shameless Carnivore, Omnivore's Dilemma and the Moral Vegan

Dan- Over the course of my blog, I have set out pretty clearly what my vegan diet consisted of (though I understand that you may not have the time to go through all the posts to establish the precedent). I don\\\'t eat processed products (now or when vegan). I cook mostly plant based meals (even when I am not vegan). I incorporate whole, real foods with a heavy emphasis on plants. There is little grains and I didn\\\'t try to \\\"fake\\\" meat products in my diet. I also noted that soy doesn\\\'t work for me. So when I was vegan, I was eating plants, nuts and seeds and some gluten free grains. Now that I am not vegan, I eat the same but with the addition of meat.
