A horrible shock. Comfort and blessings to his wife and children in their grief. This feels like a Steve Jobs-scale loss: An essential and very consequential life, gone far too soon. Who are our next Andrew Breitbarts, our next happy, courageous, irrepressible, media-savy warriors ? I am confident they are already out there. But for now, we mourn and celebrate a truly unique and exceptional man who fought for our liberty.

Saw her interviewed on Huckabee the other week. Was fun to see her squirm, though neither Huck, nor the audience gave her any reason. I'm sure she was mostly fearing H'wood backlash for appearing on *that* program. Knowing what I do about the film, it was a bit of a head-scratcher to hear MH praise the pic. But his political deftness is yet another reason I wish he were our candidate.

Dea, sweetie, it is you who are misrepresenting Reagan and misrepresenting GOProud. One of Ronald and Nancy's closest friends, a frequent guest at the Reagan White House, and a pall bearer at the President's funeral was Merv Griffin - a staunch conservative, a big donor to the GOP and to conservative causes, a donor to the Reagan Ranch and Reagan Foundation, and a HO-MO-SEX-U-AL. In similar fashion of Reagan's acceptance of the LCR donation, because LCR agreed with him (despite your fearful denial of history), Ron & Nancy & Merv were friends because of shared values. As for GOProud, we are not "demanding" anything about celebrating homosexuality and gay marriage - GOProud takes no position on gay marriage. We are an organization for US Constitution-loving, small-government, low-taxation, personal liberty and prosperity celebrating gay conservatives to join and know they are not alone. Our representation at GOPAC means that we paid GOPAC a bunch of money to be a co-sponsor. SO, in the spirit of Ronald Reagan, GOPAC said, "Hey, they agree with us !" and so we do.

GOProud takes no position of gay marriage, only to say that it is an issue that should be left up to each individual state to decide - a very Federalist position. They are anti-abortion, pro Second Amendment, in favor of smaller government, drastically reduced federal spending and entitlements, and, of course, lower taxes which result in greater personal liberty and prosperity. Pretty Reaganesque, huh ?
