CGBlog.org :: An Unofficial Coast Guard Blog : Open Discussion for the week of March 1, 2009

I'll throw a different topic out... Looking for support/advice. I just retired after 33+ years in the CGR, and discovered that Reserves aren't issued any document that accounts for their service. Full-timers get a DD-214 upon discharge or retirement.... My wife and I got a nice cert from the Comdt and the Command. They suggested that I do a printout from Direct Access, but that system hasn't ever gone far enough back in my paper record to account for some of my awards or special assignments. Even the PSC's records aren't as complete as what my personal records indicate! I'm thinking that there needs to be something for Reserves to use to prove their answer of "yes" on job applications that ask about military service. What do you guys (and gals!) think?

CGBlog.org :: An Unofficial Coast Guard Blog : Why the Coast Guard demands blogging in the clear

Hear! Hear! If you're not willing to be identified (and take the credit for the good, or flak for the bad), how can your motives and ideas be truly and impartially evaluated? To me, it also means you're willing to participate meaninfully, and not take "potshots."
