Heck, THIS site has Facebook integration. :-) If the NYTimes.com site has places where you can have a minimal profile (to log in with) and comment on news stories, does that make the NYTimes.com site a social network? On the flip side, what about LinkedIn? It clearly *is* a social-network, but for many folks, it's an invaluable tool to their day-to-day careers, in terms of networking with their colleagues in industry. It's not a place where you can really be "predatory" in any reasonable definition of the word. I agree that sex offenders have no place lurking about MySpace and Facebook, but would be overly cautious to see if they could actually write the law in a meaningful manner that wasn't so overbroad as to not be able to survive a legal challenge.
