Hello all. Having a little problem with my iPhone 4. I jailbroke it when the limera1n exploit came out. I think at the time I was running 4.1. I have since upgraded to 4.2.1. However, when doing this, I can't restore my phone through iTunes properly. It gets most of the way through the process and then I get an error message saying the phone could not be restored. At first I tried a few things, changing the lead, turning my mac on and off etc but to no avail. I then tried to kick it out of restore with TinyUmbrella and it worked fine. I was just wondering if this was a common problem and if it can be fixed? Cheers Daz

I've reinstalled it and it's still doing the same! Looks like I'll have to put some time aside one night this week and re-jailbreak!

Hi guys just a quick question. Is anybody else having trouble opening Cydia? Everything else on the phone is working but when I try to open Cydia it gets to the loading data screen but then just returns to the homescreen. The solution is probably to re-jailbreak but if there are others having this problem it may be a bug with Cydia

It gets as far as saying it's preparing the phone for the restore, then I just get an error message saying could not restore iPhone, if you give me ten mins i'll copy the message into here, I'm attempting to restore from my last backup to see if it works at the moment.

it didn't get as far as restoring it, the error message came up as it was preparing the iphone for restore. It's still on the black screen with the pineapple now, but like I say it was like this when I woke up this morning. When I plug it into iTunes I can access all of the music and data on the phone too. I've had it nearly a year now, and with my past experiences of iPods etc, it's probably about breaking time! It's still in warranty but obviously if I send it back jailbroken, they're just gonna tell me where to go!

Hi guys, just looking for some advice. I woke up this morning and my iPhone (3G, 16gig) Just had the Pineapple symbol on the screen. The phone is jailbroken to 3.1. I tried restoring via iTunes normally which didn't work, I tried restoring via pwnagetool which also did not, and then I tried restoring via iTunes with the custom firmware created via pwnagetool. I've tried restarting the phone holding the home and power buttons too but it is just bringing me back to the pineapple screen. Does anybody have any ideas what I could do to sort this problem out? Also worth noting is that it is showing up in the side bar in iTunes but takes a little longer to load it when you click the iPhones name. Cheers

right you can upgrade safely, it removes all of the jailbreak stuff though. i believe the 2.2.1 jailbreak still works with the 3.0 for now though!
