I have been without power for over two hours this afternoon. The surge knocked the TV and Hifi for 6 and I have no heating because the temperature isn't considered cold enough. There has been much more rain this year than last - and the cuts last year were less in October than they have been so far this year. There's more to these power cuts , the reservoir is much fuller and unless the demand is extrraordinarily high this winter there seems to be little need to enforce power cuts on normal people at a time when no city heating is available.
