Glenn Beck - The 912 Project : Vent through 7/9

We ARE a team - we are all passionate about retaining our freedom for ourselves and our families. I DO agree that we must present a united front on THAT because, as everyone agrees, there are many fronts to fight. I think that showing all of our complaints is part of our right to address the government with our grievances, but it can become dangerous if we allow the government to keep us divided. It's like the fore that keeps crackling, we want to put out them out before they have the chance to burn the house down... it requires all of us to unite with each other on all of the "sparks"... Let's just not get so wrapped up in the sparks that we forget that we left the woodpile (our rights) right by the hearth!

I absolutely agree - the petitions are all fine and good, but take it further - innundate them with calls and emails - letters will be too slow. Not sure who to write to? Here is my website - www.getinvolvedamerica.info - nothing cute, nothing fancy - just the contact info for EVERY senator and representative in Washington (not to mention the contact info for every state). Still in progress, but the Senate section is complete and ready for you all to get the info you need. THEN call all your friends and have them email...or call...or BOTH!

I was in Phoenix and was standing beside a black couple who were more fired up than I was - also, a lot of representation in the crowd of many people of colors - red, white and blue!

what about Memorial Day - the day we remember the patriots whose blood helped to watch the Tree of Liberty? If we can't stand with this brave group who fought and died for he founding fathers' principles...then who can we stand with?

I think that the whole message is that we want our country back and that these brave individuals gave their lives to do that for us - I LIKE the idea of the colored water - we'd just have to make sure that it doesn't get construed as vandalism - maybe we could all wear red!

I saw a lot of flags, not sure I saw yours - I was just so overwhelmed by the massive turnout! I know the CAP said 6,000, but I heard that the crowd was across the whole lawn and up the hill in Wesley Bolin Park. If that's true, the numbers had to be a lot higher - what did they estimate? 10,000? We have to keep the momentum going - maybe Memorial Day? We don't want to wait until July 4th - with the attention span of Congress, and the nation - who'll even remember. But I did notice that there was nothing on the news - at least not that I saw... hope all that video hits YouTube soon!

Your post was eloquent and truly speaks to the real matter at hand. It's easy to sit behind a keyboard and complain about how bad things are - although how anonymously is questionable at best - it's quite another to actually do something that could cost you your job, your family, or even worse... Our founding fathers knew the price they might have to pay, but also knew that liberty does not come cheap. They risked everything to bring the United States into existence against the greatest superpower of their times. The United States has been called a superpower and we, like that small band of brave patriots, are standing up and saying "This is MY country - and I want it back!" Muskets are small potatoes to what we face today. So, I agree with you and say to everyone on this site who happens to see my one, small post - Are you willing to give up EVERYTHING to bring this country back to the majestic beauty she once was and still can...no MUST...be? Are you willing to face opposition, threats, maybe even violence to restore your freedom and the freedom of your children? Are you willing to do whatever it takes to regain our country? If not, then PLEASE get out now - while you still can... you will not be judged or decried for this decision...but, once you MAKE that decision, know that you are not alone. No matter how bad it gets - you are not alone....

Absolutely - I'd like to get an accounting of what those taxes actually pay for - it would be the proverbial "kiss" when I'm getting...you know the rest.

Here's a bigger challenge - take a big piece of paper and write down every tax you pay - sales, gas, surcharges on utilities, auto registration (if it is based on value), death tax, property tax, school tax, "you're breathing the air, aren't you?" tax, etc., etc., etc. We did it once in a class in debt management and budgeting and it made me sick! It's not just the income taxes, but it's all those nagging, little taxes that we pay a penny at a time...

I'm with you... what would come next? Removing the voting rights of anyone who disagrees with the party line? You all talk about how we are losing our God-given rights by the government, but then think it's okay for you to comment on how beneficial it might be to limit them... I received the right to vote at 18 and voted in my first Presidential Election in 1976 and in every one since then. And the idea of a "test" to be able to vote has been used before - remember the literacy tests and poll taxes in the South? Didn't work then - should NOT work now!

Glenn Beck - The 912 Project : America's Wish List

Here is my wish list – (in nor particular order) 1.Abolish the Federal Reserve and give the power to control the money system back to the government. Oh, and, by the way, break the printing press until we can afford what we are spending and not devalue our money. 2.Abolish the Electoral College and elect the President based on popular vote ONLY. California has 55 votes, New York has 31, Texas has 33. What is a state with only 3 votes supposed to do? (And there are a LOT of them.) 3.Secure the border. Build a fence, bring in really nasty dogs, send the Marines – whatever! We would consider an invasion by a foreign army as an act of war – why are we tolerating this invasion? 4.Create a fair and ENFORCEABLE immigration policy that will allow people to immigrate to become citizens or work, with renewal procedures that are enforced with NO EXCEPTIONS. There are millions of LEGAL immigrants in this country that play by the rules – let ALL of them do it. 5.Establish entry points for immigrants to be processed into the country. My great-grandfather came through Ellis Island – it worked then, why not now? 6.Pass the Birthright Citizenship Abolition Amendment (proposed on April 13, 2005 – filed to pass Congress) - No person born in the United States after the date of the ratification of this article shall be a citizen of the United States, or of any State, on account of birth in the United States unless the mother or father of the person is a citizen of the United States, or is lawfully admitted for permanent residence in the United States, at the time of the birth. Two benefits – there would be no incentive to have “anchor babies” and reduction in health care costs since illegals will not pay the bill anyway. 7.Require all Congress members to take a test on any pending bills that involve spending or personal rights BEFORE they vote on it and make the results a public record. This would show that they understood the bill and agreed with it. This would eliminate the “I didn’t know what I was voting for” excuse. 8.Reduce spending until we can pay for all our obligations and some on the deficit principal – “balanced budget” does not mean just paying interest payments. 9.No appropriations for projects that do not have a well-defined, approved plan for implementation. The 2010 budget calls for $630 billion over 10 years for health care reform that doesn’t even exist yet! 10.Pass the Income Tax Abolition Amendment - proposed April 10, 1997 (failed to pass Congress): Three years after the ratification of this article of amendment, the sixteenth article of amendment to the Constitution of the United States is repealed, and the Congress shall have no power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, except in time of war declared by the Congress. 11.Bring back the 12th Amendment! This provided that distinct votes would be made for President and Vice President and the one with the most votes for each office wins – no “tickets”. Talk about true bipartisanship if two different parties won? 12.Equal prosecution for every citizen – do the crime, do the time – politicians, celebs, average Joes, whoever. Justice should be blind – not the servant of the one who can afford the better lawyer. 13.Require all persons of legal working age that receive federal assistance to do SOMETHING to earn it! The program was created as a “helping hand” – not a “way of life”! On that same note, limit the amount that can be received – no more “bonuses” for having kids that they neither need nor want! 14.A law banning “pork” projects – if a state’s citizens don’t want to pay for something, why should everyone else in the country do it? If that’s the only way a politician can get re-elected then FIND ANOTHER JOB! 15.Remove the “lifetime” benefits for politicians – if I get fired, I can’t even get unemployment! If they get fired (voted out), they shouldn’t either – let them worry about Social Security, health care and all the other things we have to worry about. 16.Require that all bills contain the lobby groups that are in favor of it and their contributions to the sponsors’ campaigns. Let’s see who’s really pulling the strings in Washington. 17.Quit the UN and let our last contribution be for moving expenses – Beirut or Baghdad is nice this time of year. If that doesn’t work, repeal diplomatic immunity, reduce our contribution to an average of what the other countries pay, and increase the rent until we can evict them! I could go on and on, but this is a good start…. General Dwight David Eisenhower - “A people that values its privileges above its principles soon loses both.”

Amen to that! Part of the values and principles is the fact that they are not always easy to follow - unless it's an easy situation! I still believe it this quote: Francois Voltaire - "I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it." The basic premise of this nation was to allow we the people to disagree and voice our opinions without fear of reprisal. If we are to make real change, we have to accept that there are those who will disagree - otherwise, we will be guilty of doing exactly what we are coming together to prevent!
