This is to Granny GeekEIEIO,personally I don`t feel that my tax dollars should be used for any research no matter how noble or ethical it is.The current socialist inspired "progressive" tax code is unethical to begin with but let the public sector fund the research anyway.That way if someone wishes to choose funding what I feel is a less worthy use of the technology like growing big boobs, and lets not try to deny thats what it`ll be primarily used for, over regenerated hearts, spinal cords, or livers,I won`t have to pay for what I feel is a less worthy use of what may be limited public funding.BTW,why can`t you aswer more then once?This format needs tweeking.

Wait a minute.Since to my knowledge not a single embryonic stem cell treatment has been successful, are they talking about Induced Pluripotent Stemcells?Now while I agree we shouldn`t kill babies to use as spare parts,cells included, what you do with your own stem cells is your business. For example,I have every right to donate my blood or a kidney.But with the host of diseases and injuries that can be cured by IPS technology,I`d hope they`re not wasting money and time on this,with all do respect to mastectomy patients,we could do better than gravity defying hooters.Tell me,to choose boobs over paraplegics,now where exactly does that fit into the 9 principles or 12 values?

Try going to other internet sites and join them, ask if they wish to form alliances with your group.Thats the key to grassroots organizing,a broad front.Beware though,many of the established groups can be very self absorbed and insular.I`ve been doing this for some time and have been flamed more times then I care to remember.

Agree with Sunshine4u about needing more tea parties, there must be a stop to this reckless spending. I`m a new member here but I`ve been online for years at a few other sites, not the least being the Jim Robinson site Freerepublic.com. Its been my observation that while internet talk is cheap, action is harder to accomplish. I`ve been working hard to organize local support for tea parties in the Cleveland/Akron area but the response has been hit and miss. We need to network with other groups and people on issues like this if we are to succeed. The point here being that the bonuses given out would not have been paid if the bailouts had not been made in the first place. AIG was going bankrupt,that would have ended the issue of contractual obligations and held them accountable for their business incompetance. Also, if the Democrats and the administration had not cramed this, porkulus laiden waste of taxpayer dollars, through the congress so fast, it could have been read in detail and this glaring omission corrected.
