Sharing some informations. Problems I had (and fixes): Cydia with blank screen? USE REDSNOW AND CHOOSE BOOT TETHERED. That should fix. After using ultrasnow, iphone does not boot? Use the same solution above...

For those who are still in doubt and have iphone 3G and 3GS: YES, you must update your iphone with official ios 4.2.1 in Itunes. THEN, you will use new redsn0w to upgrade your baseband with iPad's one. Also, you will jailbreak your phone with redsnow. THEN, install ultrasn0w (new) with cydia and unlock your damn phone.

You guys ARE NOT READING the post, are you? People who have iphone 3G and 3GS with baseband (BB) 05.14 or 05.15 should update ONLY the BASEBAND using iPad firmware. How you do that? Using the upcoming redsn0w. I am just waiting to use it. THEN... you can use ultrasn0w to unlock your 3g/3gs iphone.
