FinerMinds : The Power of Intention By Dr. Wayne W. Dyer - Day 37 Of The PhilosophersNotes Challenge

I absolutely love the discipline portion (can you tell I am in the Army!!! lol) I just didn't have it in my life as far as my spiritual life is concerned - and now i know - FINALLY that this is hard work - just like anything worth doing and to see any benefit I must act as if I am on this journey EVERYDAY - meditate, read, take care of myself, live with INTEGRITY - my to do list has grown - but now there are many more MUST DOs! Great note - I look forward to reading his book. I am in the process of making a list of all books mentioned in each note - if anyone is interested please let me know. Take care all.

hello everyone - I hope you are having a great Tuesday!!! If you are like me I am getting a bit sad to see the ending of the PH Challenge - but I know that it is my responsibility to continue this journey on my own - to have the discipline to continue. But it has been amazing to this point and I hope all of you have found new zest for your journeys. I must admit I was not a big fan of Dr. Dyer before the PN Challenge - I just thought he was a bit much for me - but I have to tell you I have become a fan and ready to follow - The as if idea really really got me - I ask myself those questions everyday - and with some great answers.

FinerMinds : The Dark Side Of The Light Chasers By Debbie Ford - Day 33 Of The PhilosophersNotes Challenge

I have a friend (really it isn't me) who is married and has been reeling from an extramarital affiar gone bad. He has been suffering quite a bit (I know I know he deserves it). But this is what happened - he kept focusing on the relationship - the good - how it made him feel - etc. The out of now where another woman starts communicating with him in appropirate manner (for a married man). I was floored - he was a perfect example of the law of attraction - seriuosly this relationship almost killed him, could have (probably should have) destroyed his marrage and the life he knew - but he couldn't let the thoughts of the good things go - and wham there was another opportunity. Once he told me his quote was "why does God put these situations in front of me" my response - "the universe will give you what you ask for" Strange analogy I know - but seemed to fit. Have a great night everyone.

Hello All - Great to be back - was out for a couple of weeks! Glad to see everyone's comments. the "attend your own lectures" comment - hit home - I find myself doing that quite often - I should listen to myself and actually do what I have the nerve to tell other people to do! Read "Ask and it is Given" - FANTASTIC book - changed my life - now I have the soundtrack in my head telling me when I am thinking wrong!! And, I had a real life experience with the law of attraction. Bear with me because it shocked me when I realized it.

FinerMinds : Happy For No Reason By Marci Shimoff - Day 19 Of The PhilosophersNotes Challenge

This note reminds me of a dear friend that was in the Army with me in Iraq. This fellow officer - was never shaken and always seem to find the good in any situation - at the time it was a bit annoying - I mean come on man complain about something!!! LOL anyway I gave him the nickname of Papa Smurf - because if Papa Smurfed got upset - you knew it was bad!!! LOL Ahh good times. If you haven't tried the Gratitude log online do it now!! It is a great habit enforcer to make you think of something you are grateful for. And I love the habit reference - the people I admire have wonderful success focused habits - exercise, mediation, eating right, etc. - so it is time for me to incorporate those and start waiting for the "right" time. Last note - I have had the Japanese characters for Kaizen tattooed on my right arm for several years now - it is time to actually practice that. Have a great night everyone.

FinerMinds : Flow by Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi - Day 16 Of The PhilosophersNotes Challenge

Hello everyone, I hope you had a great weekend. Quck story, I was at my daughter's church on sunday and the guest minister spoke about "finding god's calling" I was thinking - Holy cow, I can't get away from this PN stuff even at a church I don't belong to!!! LOL It was kind of spoky though. Love this note - I especially like lining goals with skills - so many times I get discouraged from the big goals and negate the little ones (ie getting six pack abs is hard - but doesn't mean I can't get a 4 pack!). Also, I believe that if you are not used to achieve goals - you have to retrain your thought process and brain how to and that you can achieve realistic goals - so the way I read the transforming adversity section is that we should select a goal no matter "how big" that we can achieve and move toward it. Any thoughts Have a great monday everyone.

FinerMinds : The Big Leap By Gay Hendricks — DAY 4 Of The PhilosophersNotes Challenge

First, I hate to bring in some bad news - but I just received an email from a friend of mine that works for the UN at Haiti. He relayed a terrible story of how a co worker had to sacrifice saving her two older children to save the life of her new born toddler. Her husband died as well. I know this is not the time and place for such news - but that really hit me. One thing about the scientist who thought we would exploded at 30 miles per hour - they just didn't think that they BELIEVED it - big difference - We know believe in things like anti matter - are we wrong as well? So my suggestion about today's reading is that you shouldn't just review what you think to be true but what you BELIEVE to be true and then question your beliefs. Have a great day everyone.

FinerMinds : How To Stop Worrying And Start Living By Dale Carnegie — DAY 3 Of The PhilosophersNotes Challenge

Another good one - my problem is that being a Libra - I have a terrible time to make a decsion - I am constantly second guessing myself. This wavering is a source of worry - I am assuming that my lack of decsion making is based upon not having a strong enough core value system or true direction. Any suggestions?

WOW WOW WOW! First thank you for the challenge - great stuff. I as many have read this before - but certainly needed the refresher. It is very interesting to read the comments and how people picked up on different things. The connections between the 4 agreements and 7 habits was INTEGRITY - I guess that tells you something where I am at in my life. Made me jump a little because today I told myself that I would get up early and exercise - but I didn't do it - and there right there in Brian's note was "integrity to those commitments" WOW Have a great day everyone.

FinerMinds : The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz — DAY 1 Of The PhilosophersNotes Challenge

Great start and comments. The impeccable hits home - i have always admired people who could be honest and say what they mean - now it is my turn. I too like to speak ill will towards others - not a good thing. A friend of mine once said that a lie doesn't have to be spoke - you just have to give the impression that something is when it really isn't. As to always doing your best - well we all know when we are doing our best - our little voice tells us - Great time for this challenge - very low point in my life and need to accept and embrace inner change - for me!!!!

Holy cow - I am constantly saying that - not wanting to hurt the other's person's feelings when I know it is not going to happen - glad to see someone else has the 'we'll see" factor!
