I should update this post because I think the best solution now is foxmarks. It manages the merges and works great--even with Safari 4.

CrazySox : man in moms group?

I'm sure he said that just to get to you after his plan of using the MOMs group as a dating scene was rejected. I disagree with Martha, he shouldn't have even been invited. I feel sorry if he can't find any friends but he could just go to the park anytime he wants and try to make friends that way.

Scattered : Server Move (again)

Well, at spry they wouldn't allow you to run squid amongst other services, I can't find the link anymore but I'm sure you can find the page of limitations (I remember a pretty big list). MediaTemple's policy is simply: "Although (mt) Media Temple cannot assist in the installation of 3rd-party applications you are free to install and use whatever software you want without restrictions." aside: I noticed Spry's rates are crazy high now (compared to what they were). They end up being the same as (mt) and (mt) has always been regarded as high. You probably don't have to worry but if they try to raise your rates I can get you a deal at (mt) or you might want to checkout that mosso hosting from Rackspace. As I've already said, I'm extatic with Media Temple's uptime, speed, performance and support with their (dv) plans. Ha Ha, I just thought about the reason I left Spry--that one day (or two) that all of the servers were down and no one answered anyones calls or emails because of some snow storm in Washington.

I know, I just think open is relative. I said that because it's open just enough for you to write and release an app. Maybe you're jealous that you didn't write the iFart app so you could take a 10 year work break from the profits :)

I love DRM as a developer. I don't care about DRM for software as a user. I deal with DRM for music/video as a user. I don't make music. and here it comes...if you don't like it don't write an app...don't hate the game hate the players...BAM!!!

You're missing my point. I don't care for the DRM but when I buy software I expect it. As I mentioned, if I was an iPhone developer I would want it. And Apple is and has positioned it as a feature for iPhone developers because of most of platforms you (as a developer) need to worry about it. If you read articles from iPhone developers you'll hear the praise for the system even when they complain about the review process at the same time. Digital media is a different story. Anyways...you'll always be able to find fault in their system, that way you can be critical to your arch enemy. Regardless if they're successful and the users don't mind.

If I were an app developer I would prefer DRM. I know when they had their WWDC Apple positioned the DRM as a feature. I guess they could give the option of no DRM but they could just release the app for free.

Ha ha! Well, the NDA argument isn't valid anymore. IT's been removed for sometime now. They allow for 3rd party browsers but they are restrictive but I've already made that point too.

I'm talking about an open platform for application developers. OS X, the iPhone and iTunes allows for anyone to participate. The iPhone is open in comparison to other mobile platforms.

I'm sure they were referring to having high standards in regards to the development/code of the apps. Which Apple has--I've heard countless stories of the review process finding bugs that the developer did not see. That kind of standard is excellent. The "high standard" of allowing apps based on a standards of opinion--is wrong. That's why some people ranted about iFart not being allowed. Personally, I think it's dumb for people to build these apps that are already available (i.e. flashlights, lighters). Why? Becuase they end up having no value and ultimatly clog up the app store. However, it's smart Apple allows them in, otherwise the platform would be constituted as closed. RE: App store clogging: hopefully the new rating system will help and they start streamlining the store itself.
