Glenn Beck - The 912 Project : Books

Personally, I think any current legal US citizen with a tax-paying history should be allowed to vote. This will allow even those who are out of work due to a weakened economy, injury or other reasons a voice and not just those who are currently paying tax. The downfall to that might be stay-at-home parents. They need to have a voice. But I don't like to think of some of the true welfare abusers as having any say. I don't know - it's a tricky question.

Has anyone read any of the books Mr. Beck is promoting? I believe that is what this section is for - to discuss the books or ideas put forth in the writing. We have a small group that is meeting April t4th in Kennewick, Washington to discuss the first chapter of 'The 5000 Year Leap', According to Amazon my copy should be arriving any day. Does anyone have a comment they'd like to share about the book? I admit my knowledge of our Constitution and our Founding Fathers is limited so I plan on doing a lot of reading. If I can educate myself, perhaps I can better educate my friends, neighbors and co-workers.

One way to help let our congressmen & women to read the constitution is to send them a copy. I'm participating in Read The Constitution Day, April 20th, by not only sending copies to my congressmen & women, my President & vice President (Yes, they're mine, even if I disagree with them) and the Supreme Court, but by reading it myself. It's not just the politicians who should be reminded of our Constitution, but our citizens as well. http://tinyurl.com/theConstitution Call to Action: April 20th, Mail the Constitution! We've declared April 20th "Read the Constitution Day" (the real Constitution Day is September 17th, but we can't wait that long). To commemorate the occasion, we're asking every one of you to Print and Mail a copy of the US Constitution to those that need it most: our elected and selected representatives in Federal government!

In cruising the posts on this site, I'm not seeing an event that is happening April 20th that will get more people involved in taking responsibility for the governing of our nation. The event is: Read The Constitution Day. On 4/20/2009, remind our elected representatives to Preserve, Protect, and Defend the Constitution by sending them a copy. You can find information about this event at http://www.thetreeofliberty.com/vb/showthread.php... or the way I found it - by the same creator of 'Glenn Beck the 9/12 Project' group on Facebook - http://tinyurl.com/theConstitution. This seems like a great idea to remind our elected officials what their job description should be and that every decision they make should be filtered by their constituents AND their constitution, not just their wallets.
