What I've also discovered is that while the commenters fervently backup Dr Paul personally, they are so well informed on the issues that they can be absolutely rabid in defense of his policy positions. And for very good reasons it seems. Frankly, I have NEVER seen anything quite like it in all the years I've been following politics. It's really something to see. We are so lucky to be front and center and positioned to witness a historic moment in time. A Ron Paul, or someone with his principles, his honesty, his values and with a genuine sense of what America needs more than ever, does not come around that often. He really does cure the apathy in even the most cynical of people once they get to know what he truly advocates. Something that's so precious only life itself exceeds it; freedom! All hail the sovereignty of the individual.

Does anyone else notice, like I've noticed, that whenever there's an article on the web that references Ron Paul in a negative or positive light the comments that follow generally are in support of the good doctor and rush to his defense? The comments seem to run about 65 to 75% in his corner when the article tries to portray him unfavorably .

@DesertYote and JoeInMichigan: The fact that you would suggest that Ron Paul has no understanding of history and is an isolationist speaks volumes. It tells me that you haven't done your homework. If by now you don’t recognize /acknowledge that Romney, Gingrich and the other dwarfs are corporate puppets then you are in serious denial or part of the subversion? If you want things to continue under the rule of the global “banksters”, maintain the status quo and allow tyranny to grow under the phony “two party paradigm” then vote for the media’s “top tier”: Obama; Romney; Bachmann; Perry etc. But if you want things to truly change with the assurance that you will have the right to be heard and not silenced, begin to restore America liberty now; then support Ron Paul. He can’t be bought – and the establishment knows it! I'll say again that 2012 is indeed our last best chance for a political solution. If we blow it this time, the USSA will dissolve. A vote for anyone other than Paul is a vote for the status quo. Is that what you want? If so, then we have nothing further to discuss.

Headline very misleading and Beck makes a good point. Ron Paul and only Ron Paul in 2012... our last and best chance for a political solution. The alternative is something akin to what happened in the USSR (circa 1989) but with an armed citizenry. It won't be pretty.

Anyone who has read The Real Lincoln (or scanned the "King Lincoln Archive" at LewRockwell.com) would not be surprised at all to hear that Lincoln was hated and reviled by most of the "great men" (and the Northern masses) of his time. As Tagg hesitantly admits in his Introduction, Lincoln was widely criticized in the North as a "bloody tyrant" and a "dictator" for his "arbitrary arrests, the suspension of habeas corpus, and the suppression of newspapers . . ." More specifically, imprisoning tens of thousands of Northern civilians without due process for verbally opposing his policies; shutting down over 300 opposition newspapers; deporting an opposing member of Congress; confiscating firearms and other forms of private property; intimidating and threatening to imprison federal judges; invoking military conscription, income taxation, an internal revenue bureaucracy, and huge public debt; and ordering the murder of hundreds of draft protesters in the streets of New York City in July of 1863 are all good reasons why Lincoln was so widely despised.
