A lot of the research about education is pure hooey! But one finding that stands up is that the longer kids stay in school the better/more they learn. More time spent in instruction means better achievement for kids. Shortening the time in instruction is just purely wrong. Reconsider.

I was a school superintendent when that agreement was reached. For a cash starved school district it was a great solution although the union employees took a log of persuading. It was a good solution for the times and still is.

I was a school superintendent when that agreement was reached. For a cash starved school district it was, indeed, a "win" win" agreement. I remember spending a lot of time explaining to the employees at that time that the agreement was good for them too.

Too bad us humans have such short and selective memories.

I didn't see the government fining General Motors or Dodge when one of their many recalls took place. Is this another government plot to justify the humongous amounts of money it gave to our automakers on the bailout? Why do I distrust OUR Government so much?

Woods screwed up both literally and figuratively. However, the only people to whom he owns any kind of apology are his closest friends and family. Certainly no apology is due to the general public (is just isn't their business) and particularly no apology or explanation is due the press who want to promote this for their ends, not Woods!
