You know, I loved the pieces in that exhibit, but the layout bugged the crap outta me. It didn't have a great flow. (I mean, it was probably also my fault for going on a Saturday afternoon when it was MOBBED.) Their current exhibit, Death Becomes Her, is a different layout but IMO suffers from a similar "ehhhh, this is hard to navigate" malaise, despite being small.

*weeping* I re-read it for a Coursera class, "Fantasy and Science Fiction: The Human Mind, Our Modern World," which I cannot recommend highly enough for all its units. But the TMC unit was just beyond. For some reason "The Musicians" had never really stood out for me, but something about it in this reading did. "Ylla" always stirs something in my viscera, too.

I am really trying to be a good little mindfulness student, and simply revel in my enjoyment of this chapter and this review, because as everyone notes above, the transition to Shaun's narration voice is so technically skilled on the one hand and emotionally gutting on the other hand, not to mention Mark's insights are spot-on and help me to appreciate new and different facets of the story and characters. Oh, Mark. I get this warm, glowy, gushy feeling of happiness in my heart when you enjoy a book (or series) that is important to me in some way. Does that sound creepy? I feel like that sounds creepy.
