what the article doesn't mention is that the report leaked before the market closed and sent shares on about a 5% bender before they stabilized. Funny people those traders!

I was thinking of that, and realized I do pay for some "virtual goods" like online movie rentals occasionally. However, its a cheaper and easier replacement for going to blockbuster for the same product in a physical format.

What's astounding to me is that game developers think they can get more money out of people for what are essentially power-ups within the game; its a pay-to-play business model on facebook. Really, who thought you could charge people to play games on facebook? What's even more amazing is that people actually do pay for it! I read recently that in one of those games there's an option for a $60.00 block of virtual goods at a time!!! Thats crazy to me that people would invest so deeply in fantasy.

"adequate security for my computing needs"... unless you're in witness protection a little common sense and 45 seconds in the privacy control panel is more than adequate.

Exactly. the US is orders of magnitude more diverse, not to mention larger than France and Japan. The demographics are just too disparate to fairly compare.

I haven't flown horizon in a while, but didn't they pass out complimentary local wine too? Hmm, ever think of expanding that to all Alaskan flights?

Well, takes one to know one. Maybe he recognized a kindred spirit in Ole Keith.

Actually cooking/steaming vegetables often increases the bio-availabilty of the nutrients. A raw carrot gives you something like 5-10% of the available vitamin A, and a steamed carrot gives you 95% of the vitamin A in the carrot. On the flip side, over-cooking and exposing to excessively high temperatures can destroy some nutrients so you do have to be careful.

Could not agree with you more! Potatoes are tricky. By themselves they are a pretty good carb but the way most people eat them adds a lot of fat (butter, sour cream, cheese, bacon bits, fried).

I would add to your list, skip the fruit juices; eat a piece of fruit with all the fiber and less sugar instead. Go easy on the red meats that have a lot of bad fat. And remember healthy fats are important too like fish, nuts, seeds, flax, etc.
