I was driving down Folsom today and I got to an intersection where a woman was pulling a child in one of those ride-behind buggy thingys attached her bike. It is seriously nerve racking every time I am next to one of those. You are constantly watching that you don't get too close to the cyclist, while also making sure you don't rear-end the person in front of you, while also trying to be mindful of other pedestrians and cyclists, and turning vehicles. Are there any numbers on how many cyclists these zones see per day? Let's face it, cycling is not how the elderly get around town, or even want to for that matter.
