South Seattle is the answer? Really? Why's that?

Restoring it, eh? It's covered in dust, and there don't appear to be any tools in the rubble. Also, what kind of person restores cars when they can't even take care of their mossy roof? Sounds to me they hope for a bigger payout from this guy's insurance. And you know what, I hope he gets it. I hope this idiot driver pays out the butt for destroying this garage. I'm so tired of people getting slaps on the wrist.

He better get enough money to actually restore that T-bird.

Well, I'm sure there are people that fit this profile. We bought our home with the full realization that it would not gain in value and it would be a tough sell unless we found someone who fit that profile! ;)

We also chose this home because the Port of Seattle paid for superior windows and doors to soundproof our home. It's a little known fact that something like 90% of the homes underneath the air traffic have superior soundproofing technologies, provided by Port of Seattle. I had company over once that didn't even realize the airplanes were coming down over the top of us until they stepped outside to leave. Outside = Noisy. Inside = Not so much. So, I really don't see why people are complaining about noise, when they probably wouldn't even be aware of the increased traffic if not informed of it. It still won't be noticeably different; it's never noticeably different.

I think it's highly exaggerated, but I don't stand two feet away from my neighbor (we're not *that* close). Around six feet away, with a loud continental overtop, you can't hear each other talking. We've just learned to pause our speech - no big deal. But if I'm standing right next to someone, we can hear each other just fine.

If the school bus company would use Zonar vehicle inspections, the bus driver would have been forced to walk the bus to reach the child inspection tag in the back in order to complete his/her inspection. So many problems are solved with electronic reporting...

Fairchild AFB supports not just the Spokane community (and economy), but most of North Idaho and the small retirement communities just inside the Montana border. I think this is the most important line in defense of keeping the base: "In addition, Department of Defense information showed that more than 20,000 military retirees in the Spokane area receive more than $607 million in pension payments, and depend on the base for many services." Closing the base is equivalent to cutting off our veterans. It's like we're saying "Hey, you served your time and now we're done serving you." So while the nearby facilities could definitely take on the responsibilities of the military installment, they can't serve the veterans and their families - who I think very much deserve to be served.

Which might mean he talked with an accent? And most black males we collectively reference typically don't speak with accents.

And what about all those people that lost their jobs when Lucky Friday was closed? (Hecla hired new, cheaper, labor for the Star, and the Lucky Friday people are "out of luck".) Will they get their jobs back? Probably not.

Sometimes they don't, you're right; sometimes they get the job done just fine. I think it's the concept of a privacy filter that's important. The library does their part to protect children, and the occasional porn observer doesn't intentionally reveal to the whole library today's exciting show. It's a very simple and cheap solution.
