For reference, because I have worked in the produce business, own a family run farm that supplies to big box grocery stores, and shop equally at both grocery stores and markets- I can tell you, straight up, that your statement "Produce at the supermarket is cleaner, fresher, cheaper and more consistent in quality" couldn't be more wrong. But on second thought, I guess if you already have low standards for your produce, everything at the grocery store would meet what you consider to be quality, so it could be that you just don't know the difference.

Also- the price comparison list shows dozens of examples where the farmers market wasn't the cheaper option. Point being, grocery markets aren't the *only* place to buy cheap produce if you're a low-income family, or just an average joe trying to save a buck. Farmers markets can have similar prices with a higher-quality, seasonal product.... just sayin!

the focus of this isn't on eggs, they're comparing produce. and- what *isn't* cheaper at costco?

I agree this is a poorly designed challenge... all I'm saying is your attacking the wrong organization by criticizing KOMO, when your issue is actually with this "challenge." United Way isn't going to change until they hear from people, like yourself, who live this way and find the challenge offensive.
