Answering my own question, I used RedSnow to exploit on the DFU and ITunes restored correctly

Hi, I have a 3GS 4.01 JB with jailbreakme and unlocked with ultrasnow.
I cooked the ipsw with Pwnage tool in a friend's apple.
Now I am trying to restore on my Itunes on Widows, but Itunes keep giving me error 1600 during restore.
Two questions:
1) The pre-JailBreak status can be with Jailbreakme? Do I have to re jb with limerain or greepoinson?
2) The blog says that the DFU runs an exploid, so that means that I can't restore it on windows? Did anyone did that whit sucess?

Andehh,
I have a 4G with 4.1, only today I JB it. However I have seen the same problem on my phone for few weeks, so I don't think that it is JB related, maybe it is a 4.1 problem

I have seen many problems here, but I think that my was the most stupid. I was restoring the shsh and not the firmware. Sorry about it. thanks

Yes, very stupid mistake. I found an tutorial that told me to do that. Now after study a little bit more about shsh (and almost trow the phone on the wall) I understood that shsh it is just a signature. I am downloading the firmware now and it should finish soon. I let everybody knows the result

ElPipo, yes they are saved on cydia, I downloaded it from there using tinyumbrella, that was the first thing I did. But still doesn't work

EIPip, yes I do have the shshs saved on cydia. I can save it using tiny umbrella, that was the first thing I did, but I still can't restore it on Itunes. Could itunes on some how be connected to apple server? I mean as umbrella edit the host file to point gs.apple.com to 127.0.0.1, it should connect to my pc and not apple right? I am asking that because If I just click on restore, apple will try to restore 4.1 and it doesn't exist on my machine, so I am assuming that it is connecting to apple server. Could this be the problem?

Hi, I have 3GS 4.01 jb with jailbreakme. I sold it to a friend so I decided to erase all content and settings from the reset menu. After that I got stuck on boot (with the apple icon), after Google it i found that I can't do it with a jb phone. I used unbrella to download my shsh from cyda, started the tss server, umbrella correct see my shshs when I click on display.
But I go to Itunes and select the shsh it tell me that "The Iphone could not be restored because the firmare file it is not compatible". I thyed using the 4.0 shsh that I saved locally when apple was still signing, but the same messame appear.

Any idea?
Am I doing something wrong?
