For those of you who say, "I don't care what kind of small rate increase it is 82% is 82% and that is outrageous" Here are a few numbers for you...

1 cent to 2 cents = 100% rate increase,
1 cent to 3 cents = 200% rate increase,
2 cents to 3 cents = 50% rate increase,
3 cents to 5 cents = 66% rate increase,
4 cents to 7 cents = 75% rate increase,
5 cents to 9 cents = 80% rate increase,
6 cents to 11 cents = 83% rate increase.

You can make percentages sounds as bad or as good as you want. Be careful before you take things at face value.

It sounds like KIDK just wants to be fairly compensated and DISH is not allowing that. Seeing as how we pay 15 cents each month for the Cartoon Network I think DISH can give KIDK 9 - 11 cents for their News and Prime time shows. Aside from your children how many of you actually watch the Cartoon Network?

Channels 6 and 8 will have to go through this same thing in the coming years. I have even heard through the grapevine the station managers at the other stations are understanding to Channel 3's situation and sympathize with them. What does that tell you about the raw deal DISH is giving to KIDK? Channel 3 is simply blazing the path for the other local stations.

Hey man, no need to be rude. She's just doing her job. They were rude to her before she even got to talk to them. I'd like to see you do her job with half her class and talent AND put up with the crap they go through. From what I've seen they do a great job and should be commended on their reporting.

That won't work. Fisher Broadcasting in Seattle, WA are the ones you need to talk to. All you'll be doing is hurting a local station that has no voice in what Fisher Broadcasting does. Do you really want to hurt the local employees financially because of something a parent company does?

I find it interesting you claim to know how much Fisher is asking when those figures are completely confidential between the two companies. Where did you find this supposed information?

From what I've heard a penny a day is all Fisher Broadcasting is asking for, but Dish Network is so greedy they are not willing to even give them that much.

Actually Channel 3 is the victim here....Dish has jipped the KIDK parent company, Fisher Communications out of over $1 million, which Fisher is taking Dish to court over. Furthermore, the negotiations has NOTHING to do with KIDK directly. They all take place at the corporate level with Fisher. So, KIDK is as much as victim of this fiasco as the viewers are.

If you call 4 cents greed...then I guess you're right they are greedy. I'd just call that good business practice and marketing of a product that is gaining value....secondly, it has nothing to do with KIDK being loyal. Dish unplugged KIDK, not the other way around. Furthermore Dish was in breach of it's former contract with the parent company of KIDK, something that Dish openly acknowledges yet doesn't do anything about. So now it is being taken into legal matters.
