Pink Raygun.com : A Voice for Female Sci-Fi Fans - Her Universe

I'm assuming they'll be at Dragon*Con in September, too, as I saw that Her Universe is a sponsor in the recent magazine update that came to the house this past week. Very excited for that!

This is so cool! Why in the world does TN still have the horrid blue law that does not allow for legal delivery of wine via the US Postal Service?! It makes me such a sad panda.

I'm with EmmieBee! LOVE the headband! So glad you had a great weekend with friends and family. Sounds much more fun than mine. And I'm gonna have to check out Picnik! I've not really messed around on there much yet. Nice collages.

HAHA! I'm the other Kara in Bloggerstock, and I also wrote about the ever-present box of tissues on my "desk" as well. Sounds like we have horrid allergies in common. Nice intro to the story of your desk. You'll have it feeling like home in no time.

Kristi Maristi : Blog Traffic

Most of my traffic comes from Twitter, networked off other blogs, or from 20something bloggers (20sb.net). That's been the best networking tool for me! As I'm not a mom blog, I don't have listings on any of those mom blog sites. :)

Pink Raygun.com : True Blood S3 Premiere: Driving Me to Distraction

*Naked Eric is always a win in my book. *And all of the sexy, shirtless men? Yes, please! *I love Pam's sense of humor coming through finally. *I want more Jessica this season! *Tara definitely needs to return to her stronger self. I was very annoyed at her all last season. *More wackiness and ham this season! When the show doesn't take itself seriously, it's more enjoyable!

Pink Raygun.com : What am I Going to Do Now?

Since I have way too much time on my hands during the summer, I end up watching A LOT of old TV and reading. I'm currently watching SGU for the first time. Also, I've gone back to rewatch Buffy and Angel from the beginning, thank you, Netflix! I've also gotten into Dr. Who, finally. There's a lot of back eps to watch of that, too. USA, TNT and Syfy have great original programming for the summer: Burn Notice, Royal Pains, White Collar, Leverage, Eureka, and Caprica. My DVR will still be kickin' it in overdrive, all summer long. And don't forget the return of True Blood and Dexter! Oh, and Futurama. Summer hiatus is no longer the hiatus it used to be... Thank gods!

Pink Raygun.com : Practical Points for Costumes

Since I'm planning for my first-ever con this fall, I've been thinking about costume comfort a lot. All of my costumes will be made from relatively "normal" clothes, so the bathroom shouldn't be a problem. My biggest worries are (a) being too cold in my costumes. I've been to one of the hotels that's hosting and the a/c is icy! (b) wearing wigs for the first time since I was in high school and (c) figuring out how to work phone/$/ID storage into some of my costumes.

Pink Raygun.com : Some People Don't Want Your Kid to Read Twilight

If people have problems with Twilight being in school libraries, I can only imagine what would happen if Meyer's The Host became popular enough to garner attention... And being a middle school teacher, I read a ton of YA lit every year. I read Twilight to see what it was all about since my students were reading it, but I thought it was just poorer quality than so much that's out there. I'd rather put something quality in my students' hands, but if they're reading, then they're reading, for frak's sake! Let the kids read!

This is the first day of my life. : VLOG: Incoherent rambling during naptime

I wish I didn't despise my recorded voice so much, or I'd do a VLOG or twelve, because I'm sure they're MUCH easier to do than writing. I love listening to yours, though, sick or not. And like everyone else said, love the bow. It really is super cute, even if it is a baby wipe. :)
