I did that. Nothing. I wish the dev team could see this problem, i know the 3gs and jailbreaking are still in its early stages and im guessing purplera1n did something to the phone.

I might not be explaining things right. So i apologize. I bought the phone from bestbuy, they activated it. When i got home 2 weeks ago, i plugged it in and backed it up synched it etc. So at this point when i recover or dfu, and get back to itunes i get a message saying itunes cannot connect with my phone etc (911 screen), but when i use redsn0w, it has no signal and itunes can see it and it can either back up or sync brand new. When/why would i have to reactivate it at any point?

Ok, i tried that. Still no signal. Any other ideas, please let me know. Anyone on an irc channel to make this easier? It just feels like an older hick-up when restoring back in the day, i just dont know what to do. dfu and recovery dont help at all at this point.

Yup. Main story is that i had put ra1n rc1 and then rc2, everything worked great. Then i firgued redsn0w would be better, so i figured i would restore the phone back to normal and then use redsn0w. Well before that i got the ibss and ibec files usign the iclarified tutorial. It failed at first while retrieving the files and then when it had finished it gave me an error (where i am now), i did it again and got the two files but now im stuck in the same error. redsn0w didnt screw uo my phone if anything it gets me to the springboard but ya im on att so no need to unlock it im sure.

My phone is stuck at the sos screen (only 911 calls). I had used purplera1n rc1 and 2, and then tried to restore before i used redsn0w but it screwed it up and now i cant get it to work again. I tried using redsn0w anyways and it got it to the springboard but no service :( I would appreciate any help. Thanks p.s i was also able to save the ibss and ibec files ...

Hey Dev Team, I have a huge issue. My phone is stuck on the (itunes icons and arrow with the usb cord but where i can still make SOS calls). I had previously jail-broken my iphone 3GS w/ 3.0, with the (1st) purplera1n release, and the had updated to the RC2 release. I then wanted to restore my phone back to the original 3.0 firmware, so that i could use redsn0w and have a proper jailbreak with your software release. So i first used the iclarifieds tutorial to save my IBSS AND IBEC, and after i had collected the files the restore process failed. I then restored without attempting to get the files and it still failed. While at the **(itunes icons and arrow with the usb cord but where i can still make SOS calls)** i then used redsn0w to see if i could fix it which it did but it left me without being able to connect to any network, As in no-phone usuage/no att. So i then tried to restore after that, and im still stuck at the sos window. I would appreciate any help. Thanks
