If I'm correct in guessing that Von Trier is autistic, then he also would have been targeted for extermination in that era, so I think you have to cut him some slack on that basis, it would also account for his clumsiness with language.

Trier is a deeply religious person who converted to catholicism. Of course the left don't like him. He'll be lovin' this.
Yeah it's all part of using their own strategy against them, see how they (the left) like it, but I don't like to see innocent people dragged into it, simply because they are in showbiz. Also someone wrote a piece here a coupla weeks ago bagging Jon Bon Jovi for not being like the people he sings about, but he's not even the sole writer of their songs, some of this stuff is so ill researched as to background that it makes the right look dumb.
Von Trier is possibly mildly autistic, people like that have very little sense of the social weighting of language, they play around with it. Most of his films are intensely religious - he just approaches the subject from a different POV.

General reply to all, sorry for being late...I understand Rand's elite to be a reversion of Nietzsche's ubermensch. He influenced all the 20thC philospher types. I just don't see no 'heart' in her stuff, find it very cold. Also (don't shoot me down for being a commie, I'm not) but where is her acknowledgement of inherited wealth.
