I get really sick of people downing school teachers. Yes, some are terrible and should never have even entered the profession at all, but there are lots of caring and loving teachers that have the children's best interest at heart. You find that in every profession unfortunately. Another thing is that you hear about school teacher issues because they are the only profession outside of ministers that are actually held to any kind of standards.

Citizens of Rowan County need to understand how this scoring system works. The community should be very proud of the Rowan-Salisbury School System and the growth rate made over the last school year. We need to understand that some schools only miss by one subgroup, which is often the exceptional children's subgroup. People need to understand that these children are placed in this subgroup (exceptional children's program) due to the fact that have some sort of learning disability or impairment that is an obstacle to their learning rate. We need to be proud of all of the students in Rowan County regarless of their subgroup....Economically Disadvantaged, Exceptional children, English Second Language..ect. Most of all you need to appreciate all of their teachers that work extremely hard to increase student learning as well as all of the other roles that teachers play to each student (teacher, parent, counselor, nurse, caretaker and friend). Although, the educational system is the first place that the government hits with budget cuts. What do we value in our society?????:S
